They should either not wear shoes at all, or wear special shoes designed to keep snow from balling up under the hoof, as a normal horseshoe would if worn in the snow.

Seemed like a bad accident on the Pat Bay last night. No news about it?

Seemed like a bad accident on the Pat Bay last night. No news about it?

It was “100 per cent” fortunate that a serious crash that occurred on the Patricia Bay Highway at Tanner Road on Sunday did not result in major injuries, say Central Saanich Police. Just before 5 p.m., a northbound driver of a late-model northbound sedan made a left turn, colliding with the passenger side of another late-model sedan travelling south, said Const. Kyle Sims...

Glad to hear nobody died. Wonder why it took so many hours to post the story?

Because no one stumbles into the Times-Colonist offices until at least noon on Mondays.

I let VV know about it right away last night drove past it within a moment or 3 of it happening.

VV, sure, but we know we're Victoria's only 24/7 news source.

I dislike stale news, so I think Mike should provide pagers for members so that they can know about breaking news in the middle of the night.

Sounds like the common denominator here was the late model sedan. Perhaps we should ban late model sedans from the road? Never been much of a fan of them myself. They're OK for carrying people, but there are many better options if you want something that carries people+stuff, just stuff or if you're looking for some performance.

^^ Maybe there were no serious injuries because both vehicles involved were late model sedans......

Unpossible. They must have both been doing 40kph.

I drive an '87 Sentra. To me every car is a late model.

Late model, or late getting somewhere?

The common denominator on the Pat Bay seems to be cars taking left turns. Really need it to be a freeway.

A NORTHBOUND vehicle turned left, and collided with the PASSENGER side of a SOUTHBOUND vehicle? How does a northbound vehicle collide with an object it is moving away from? Or did they mean the SOUTHBOUND vehicle struck the NORTHBOUND vehicle?

From the TC: ...a northbound driver of a late-model northbound sedan made a left turn, colliding with the passenger side of another late-model sedan travelling south, said Const. Kyle Sims...

SB driver swerved left to avoid collision, thereby exposing the passenger side?

So that would mean the southbound vehicle struck the northbound vehicle. But the police are saying it was the other was around.

So that would mean the southbound vehicle struck the northbound vehicle. But the police are saying it was the other was around.

They're probably describing fault as opposed to whose front hit first.  Obviously the left turn vehicle is at fault.

There's not a lot of literal correctness when dealing with crashes.  Often there is personification involved or blame given over to immobile objects.  "Pole hits car".  "Truck drives into two pedestrians".
