The Nissan GTR is a $160,000.00 car in Canada, and that one looks like it's got about 30K worth of additional mods done to it.

Let's say $200K to round it off.

It's quite sad how ignorant wealthy folks, who then have ignorant but equally wealthy kids just laugh the law off as nothing more than a bonus part of a great YouTube video for fans of his page.

Car should be confiscated and auctioned off to generate cash for those innocent folks who are crippled in the accidents caused by "social media influencing" drivers like this.

I don’t know. When I was 20 or 22 I drove occasionally the same insane speed a few times in a much lesser vehicle. Picked my spots though. Chatterton Way and Central Saanich roads come to mind.

‘I just want to be a kid and have fun:’ driver doing donuts at Nanaimo mall gets ticketed

Feb 6, 2025

Screenshot 2025-02-06 14.57.17.png

On Feb. 3 around 7 pm, RCMP were called to Nanaimo North Town Centre following complaints of vehicles doing donuts/burnouts in the snow in the parking lot.

Travis, the 18 y/o driver, was at the same spot earlier when police showed up, telling him to move along or risk having his vehicle impounded.

“I didn’t listen, I just want to be a kid and have fun - my other friends were up there when it happened. I got a cool photo of me sitting on the hood with the cop right there and the tow truck.”

Travis was issued a $368 ticket for driving w/o consideration and 6 demerit points. His Toyota 4Runner was impounded for 7 days.

“I’m gonna keep going back and hanging out there, even though how much the people in the high-rise buildings don’t like it, it’s part of where me and my friends hang out.”

A self-driving car would never do this.

A self-driving car would never do this.

It took humans to avoid a head-on collision with this self-driving car:

Both said they were worried about a head-on crash and got out of the way.

But, they say the driverless car just kept going onto oncoming traffic.

"If a person made that mistake...I don't think you should have your license," Wuest said. "If you pull the Waymo over, like, odds are there's probably not going to be a driver in it. Who is held accountable for those individual mistakes?"

Lol.  There were 16,500 car crashes yesterday in the USA.  EVERY one was a human driver.

As opposed to a dog driver?

Some dogs must know how to drive, I guess.

Saanich sends Motor Vehicle Act motion back for revision

The recommendations include a series of cyclist guidelines and rules, setting a default provincial speed limit of 30 km/h for local streets and a provincial ban on right turns on red lights at all intersections.

Hardly anyone follows the 40km/hr limit now. Dropping it to 30 is asinine.

Motorcyclist killed on Malahat

Shawnigan Lake

2025-06-06 - File #2025-1537

Police are investigating after a single motorcyclist died on Trans-Canada Hwy near Mill Bay, BC.

On June 5, 2025, Shawnigan Lake RCMP responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on the Trans-Canada Hwy near Mill Bay. Early witness reports indicated that the lone motorcyclist was travelling northbound before losing control and colliding with the center median. The motorcyclist unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Trans-Canada Hwy was closed in both directions for approximately 3 hours to allow the investigation and collection of evidence to take place.

-It appears that speed may have played an important factor leading up to the crash, said Corporal Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the BC RCMP.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Shawnigan Lake RCMP at 250-743-5514.

Overhead cameras recently installed at Victoria intersections have not been put there with the intention of catching drivers who run red lights.

Two types of cameras put up by the city — vehicle-detection and traffic-monitoring devices — are aimed at reducing collisions and assessing traffic flows.

Vehicle-detection cameras can help to manage traffic, for example, by extending the duration of a green light.

So far this year, Victoria has installed five such cameras, with two more expected by the end of the year, bringing the total number in Victoria to 49, the city said.

The cameras cost $20,000 to $30,000 per installation and have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years.

Four vehicle-detection cameras going up this year are on Gorge Road — at intersections with Balfour Avenue, Washington Avenue, Jutland Road and Bridge Street. Two were installed on Blanshard Street — at Hillside Avenue and at Fort Street — and another is at Douglas Street and Tolmie Avenue.

But they could easily be used to catch red light runners, right?

Probably not. But the article does a lousy job explaining. Are they real-time changing traffic light patterns or is this just for long term planning?
