i wonder why there are a few black spots in the georgia straight. Seems odd coverage gaps.

Must have been cloudy the day they tested coverage.

Maybe the water just gets too wide there. The Great Lakes are all coming soon, but if you look at other water areas, say like down in Florida or Baja California, it's not aligned to cover big ocean areas.

Looks like there's a black out right off the Oak Bay coast.
Know it all.

I thought my phone was broken this morning and swapped sim cards to an old phone before checking the internet. Big oops.

Somehow maybe they are doing something wrong when an outage in Winnipeg also means an outage and Vancouver and Toronto. Don't that have redundancies?

Telecommunications giant Rogers says it is making progress on fixing a massive outage to its network on Friday that is impacting wireless, cable and internet customers across the country.
The outage began some time in the early hours of Friday morning, with a wide variety of services affected.
Later in the day, Rogers told CBC News in a statement that it is getting closer to finding a solution.
"Our technical teams are working to restore our services alongside our global technology partners, and are making progress," the company said.
"We know how much you rely on our networks. Today we have let you down. We are working to make this right as quickly as we can. We will continue to keep you updated, including when services will be back online."
In an earlier statement, the company apologized to its customers and said the outage was "across our wireline and wireless networks."
The company has approximately 9 million wireless customers and just shy of 3 million customers on the cable and internet side of the business.

What a s-show out there; a 30 minute wait at a gas station, an hour+ at Coast Capital Savings to get cash with their ATM system down. And of course only 2 warm bodies in the front line CSR/cashier seats. Lineup stretched out the branch into the main hall and out the front door at Tillicum Mall. Basically cash and *some* Mastercard CC's are good at this point: my MC was fine but two other people in line at CCS said their's did not work and from what I heard anecdotally from several people was that VISA was DOA as well. Can't confirm that. Either way glad I don't hold any Roger's stock, lol......

I guess I won't be ordering pizza for delivery tonight, unless I can get it for the $15 that's in my wallet.

I normally have a lot of cash in my wallet, mainly because I never use it, everything goes on the card.
I was golfing today and never take my wallet with me, but fortunately the pub credit machines were working.

Out on shopping errands this afternoon. Went to Gardenworks, Galeys and Walmart at Hillside. Couldn't tell at all that there was any disruption. No line ups at cashes. Everyone busy making their purchases. Visa worked at all 3.
Never us my debit card. Why would I when Visa pays me to us it (cash back, no annual fee)?
