Dave Thomson is a details guy who relishes getting stuff done.
As the school’s point man for the Oak Bay High replacement project, the principal has been involved in everything from arranging public consultations and speaking with neighbours to going over the plans to make sure they jibe with what has been asked for.

Oak Bay High School is not likely to be replaced more than "once in a lifetime".

The Oak Bay High School construction project is well into its initial stages, with foundation work already close to half done.
Oak Bay Mayor Nils Jensen said the municipality has been in frequent contact with school district staff, and councillors recently had the chance to look at information on some of the updated concepts for the site.
“We had a very positive meeting,” Jensen said. “Some changes had been made, which certainly are very positive in the way that bicyclists and walkers can move from the north side to the south side of the campus.
“There was clarification on the east-west trail, too, which runs along Bowker Creek and will be a multi-use pathway.”

That seems like a lot of progress in 2 weeks. I guess structural steel framing is like that.

Nice, Bingo!
Reminds me of being a little kid in England watching the local Tesco being built out of the same steel girders.

The old gym has been torn from the building with one wall remaining. Who else on VV has walked through those double doors?
The words "British Columbia Champions" still lingers on, no doubt referring to the dynasty of the basketball teams from the Gary Taylor era.
