I like this guy, Dwayne MacIsaac. He was a chef around Victoria for a lot of years, got into this business and it’s really grown.

Yup. They’ve signed a lease at The Wade on Johnson. The developer said they are moving, not expanding. But if you’re a client of theirs it may be worth your while to chat them up.
thanks for the heads up. never realized they were looking to move. this is the 3rd time they've moved now. wonder if this new place is cheaper or it's bigger. it isn't that far from the hudson. hope it has better parking at least

Lots of free parking on that part of Johnson, at least for now.
it looks like another movie theatre is going down too..Capitol 6. they want to turn it into a new office and retail building. kind of sad that so many movie theatres are leaving now. it seems like Silver City is the only one left along with Odeon. I'll miss the Landmark Cinemas at University heights too.

I notice that Walmart at Uptown has done a major overhaul of its checkout system. Only 7 lanes now with cashiers (down from about 20 I believe). Rest are all automated.

I would say that the rest are manual DIY.

American retailer L.L. Bean is opening its first store in B.C. on Aug. 20 at Mayfair Shopping Centre.
The Victoria store, at approximately 10,000 square feet, will sell outdoor-themed clothes and gear, such as paddleboards and camping supplies

anybody remember the mini golf upstairs on broad street a million years ago?
Is the Langford black light indoor mini golf still going?

The former ground floor space of Studio 4 Athletics on Yates (which is still open on the second floor) is apparently going to become The Haunted Manor, a haunted mini-golf and ping-pong lounge. I’m certainly curious.

Will be interesting to see how they fit a mini golf course in that space.
