That lighting, and especially the conduit running to the lights looks like a dogs breakfast.

Obviously the COV completely abandoned any and all monitoring of the aesthetics portion of this project months, if not years ago.

But that lighting is certainly worthy of embarrassment for whomever signed off on it ... speaking of which I wonder exactly who signed off on it?

Whomever it is, they're doing an abysmal job.

For $120 million?? ... it's hard to take what you see seriously.

At this point and in an election year, PCL could deliver a smoking turd as a bridge and council would happily sign off on it as long as it went up and down for 8 months.

I believe that is the official design of the waste water treatment plant.

The ring counterweights have been filled with lead and are being sealed at the top.

The inner part of the compartment appears to filled with concrete through numerous holes that are then plugged.

This thing is going to have more holes than Donald Trump's responses to the Mueller inquiry.

Please clarify: a turd that is producing steam due to thermodynamics, or a turd that is literally smoking (a joint, probably)

My hunch is that once the concrete has set the round plates with the bolt will be removed and the area smoothed over.

It could be too windy to do the work as scheduled.

I see the Beast, where's the bridge piece?

That's not until tomorrow.  Today will mainly be moving those 11 pre-cast girders from their storage area onto a barge.

Looks like we are about to move our final girder to the barge.

According to my contact at the City, these girders will be placed between the rings after the leaf span is placed.

Also, tomorrow's lift of the leaf span may be postponed until Sunday if the forecast winds are too strong.

It's up by the gravel pit on its huge barge (as of 13:30 today).

Getting the straps on the crane's hook for tomorrow's lift.  They need a fork lift to help lift those straps on to the crane's giant hook.  Pretty amazing.

It's putting on quite the show, being rotated 360 degrees.  This is for tomorrow's orientation...   :muching_out:

They just raised the bridge, looks like it's going to go through to the south for night.  Don't miss this...
