A post yesterday on the VV Facebook page is not going over well. Judging by the angry comments people don't think VV should be promoting tourism to closed parks.

People should mind their own business.

Oh, brother. People love to overreact, especially if they have their facts wrong.

Jordan River isn’t closed. The campground is, though, and that’s it. Provincial parks are closed, too, but Sandcut Beach, run by the CRD, is not. Authorities just don’t want thousands of people parking in parking lots throughout the day and hanging out at parks near the parking lots, which encourages clustering.

People are going to venture outside to local parks and beaches, as they’ve been encouraged to do by provincial authorities. Just stay away from others and seek out less popular areas.

In other words, use common sense. Something which is always in short supply, pandemic or not.

Colwood's release regarding parks:

The City of Colwood is taking steps toward the temporary closure of parking areas adjacent to Esquimalt Lagoon Beach, Royal Beach and City parks to limit gatherings and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This will include the temporary closure of Ocean Boulevard between Fort Rodd Hill and Lagoon Road beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020 until further notice.

Beaches and parks remain available for public use. Closing parking is intended to limit large crowds.

I think it’s a great idea that everybody leaves the City of Victoria I’ll take care of things while you’re gone

Since I have been online so much lately and disappeared 12 days ago, I thought I would let everyone know what happened.   I got hit by a bad virus, not COVID-19< that hit my muscles and inner ear.   I am 80% back as of today.

I suffered from 24/7 muscle -pain for more than a week.  I now know I hate chronic pain more than any other illness symptoms I have ever had.

It is not COVID because the one part of body that was doing well was my chest and respiratory system.  I also had no high fever

How can you be certain when I'm hearing about so many asymptomatic positives? The symptoms seem all over the place, no fever etc.

Do you know how you caught it?

I am not sure how i got it, but it was at least three weeks ago.   I have a good doctor and she would have had me tested if she thought there was any chance of it being COVID.   There are other virus based illness out there  - not every illness is COVID
