The blasting at the falls is shaking my office about once every 2 hours.

Hey I think they are putting up a banner at the Gold's Gym site. It looks green so I am thinking that it will be for the new office building. Will have to see.

These Westbank people know how to pick a site..

Not only a great location, but, as they excavate, they have rock to build on...

The hole gets deeper and parts of it are looking as if they are getting ready to put in footings.. Doug and Humbldt corner..

I figured they still had to go down a bunch more as I think there is four levels of underground parking.

^Looks like a multicultural family too. Not quite sure how they made the baby one though, can't decifire any of the brand info. Looks like not a major manufacturer though.

Big signs attached to the crew walkways were being installed around the perimeter of the site today.

Wow..

The marketing budgets of these projects sure absorb lots of cash...

Haven't heard about any Vic Council time being used for these signs as opposed to all the time put into the one's for Parkside????

Base for the crane has been delivered and is in the laydown area... no sign of a start on the base for it despite perimeter footings completed along Douglas and parts of Humboldt and Courtney... Floor poured at Doug/Humboldt corner.. and many bases and some columns poured... still drilling and blasting

May 25, 26, 2007...

correction... There are 2 crane bases awaiting installation..

So what's the deal with those big overhangs above the sidewalk? Will people on the sidewalk even be able to see the building if they look up? Will people in the lower units even be able to see the sidewalk when they look down?

I thought it was supposed to be translucent glass or something.

Did anyone else get a Westbank flyer in the mail? It has construction updates for The Falls and Shutters.

Yup I got it.

385 000 for that one bedroom seems a little steep and I am sure that it is on the side showing in that pic Aastra just posted. I think that overhang part is concrete but the sidewalk will extend well away from it especially on the western side.

The overhangs weren't present in the original watercolour images. You can still see one of them on the official website.

Probably prepared 2 months ago.. they're well ahead of that report, and as of Monday they had gone around to the Courtney side with the perimeter footing.. lots of columns in place along the Douglas St. Side..
