Here's a little secret about the interwebs. Newzgroupz is where you get movies now, not torrents. You can download a bluray in less than an hour no problem on newsgroups. Sometimes it's possible to get shows in HD before they air on the west coast.

OK, I am a little confused. I went to newzgroupz.com and that provided a link to GUBA that for $14.95 monthly will provide all the **rn I could handle. Not quite what I had in mind.

Is there some other link you can provide or was that just a general reference to newsgroups.

I think "newsgroupz" is a just a silly internet slang for "newsgroups".

Heard a rumor that Pic-a-Flic might be closing now. Can anyone confirm this.

The venerable grand daddy of indie video stores in BC, Videomatic on W 4th in Vancouver, shutting its doors.

That store is so ingrained in me that I still call Pic-a-Flic Videomatica by accident most of the time.

Had a friend over earlier to rent a movie, get to BB and they're only selling stock, no rentals.

End of an era :(

I know there's a Rogers Video in Tillicum but I don't want to drive across town to rent a movie. Is there one closer to town? Shelbourne/Cedar Hill closed a while ago.

Does Pic A Flic rent new releases/bluray?

News report from June. Little bit about Pic A Flic at the end. http://www.youtube.c...be_gdata_player

Would be interesting to see how long they can hold out. One thing they need to work on is there online presence. Their don't even have a working Facebook like page.
