I'm not willing to say that without more study.

We’re at page 55, you thinking page 57 or 58?

It’s not the politicians fault that they don’t know the front end from the back end of a deer

^ I agree with him. I have been advocating this for years, virtually no downside.

A few small dogs and cats would get caught but since I hate people who let their cats run free outdoors it's all good.

If you’re going down that road more sensible to harvest the deer, help with our food security problems.

I used to be like you cats always getting in my sandbox but then I realized they’re little exterminators now I embrace them, never plan on owning a cat.

French activist and former actress Brigitte Bardot is condemning a Montreal suburb’s controversial plan to kill most of the deer living in a local park.

Bardot published a letter on her foundation’s website Tuesday asking Longueuil, Que., Mayor Catherine Fournier to stop what Bardot described as the “planned crossbow slaughter” in Michel-Chartrand park.

“If the death penalty is pronounced for these poor animals, teams of hunters armed with their terrible crossbows will invade a usually peaceful place, popular with families and tourists, and sow death in the heart of your city,” the letter read.

The city said this summer there are nearly 10 times as many deer as the park can comfortably support. Officials warned that the deer are contributing to road accidents, are increasing the risk of Lyme disease in residents because the animals carry ticks, and are travelling to nearby areas to seek food.

_____

It considered relocation or sterilization or birth control for the deer, but the city concluded the only viable short-term solution was to slaughter all but about 10 to 15 animals.

Has anyone checked to see if that doe is really a doe and has the taxidermied body of its mother stashed away somewhere?

The deer situation in our communities is getting out of control. I mean it has been out of control for so long now, but every passing year is worse.

Know it all.

I don't agree. I don't think its any worse now than it was 5 years ago. Mind you, thats my anecdotal observations of deer in my usual day to day travels in Saanich mostly.
