Here's the Promontory from Mt. Tolmie. It's amazing how much bigger it is compared to Sitkum Lodge.

Sitkum actually sits on a rise a little higher than Promontory does.

K, thought I had sent a note out earlier but obviously didn't post. Just wanted to let everyone know that I set up a Facebook page for us, being that VV is slowing down and we're all starting to move in. It's for the residents of the Prom, a social page for us to connect. So if you are on Facebook, look up Promontorians Unite!

Hi Patti and Marty, what is the URL for the Facebook page?  I tried searching for it but couldn't find it.

Here is a video of the fireworks from the Victoria Symphony Splash 2014.  The view is from my balcony in Prom.

Thanks for the video, Steven. The fireworks were so powerful they literally shook my place with every explosion. And I'm over a kilometer away.

Thanks for the link, Teresa!

@Mike K, I know, the fireworks were loud.  However, I think I can get used to them.

Nope.  Looks like you've started a group though, not a page.  Different animals.

Your right.

Yeah, I noticed that too. There are none of those shower shelves in our place.

That would annoy me, especially since we're in the middle of A/C season.

I have a big window unit I could sell you ;)  /Shameless plug.

We are getting are walk through/orientation on the 25th YAY!

side note I read a lot of people talk about the deal with Telus for cable etc. but I don't remember anyone talking about the deal with Shaw? We got a great deal with Shaw for the first year we are receiving all the HD channels we get now plus a new gateway PVR and 2 Portals, high speed internet and saving about $100 a month.

cheers all see you next month....

It's been cooling okay for me up until this morning and I really thought things were fixed.  But now I have the same symptoms as before - it won't chill to the set temp (71F), it just stays at 74 with the green cooling light on indicating it's trying...  It's been this way all day.

I suspect it's the same problem we've been having since the beginning.  The chillers are supposed to regulate the flow and water temp so our in-suite coils can cool the air.  There's been a lot of finger pointing  between Carrier, the HVAC contractor, and the flow control contractor.  In the past, they've manually overridden the flow control system and we get a temporary cool off.  The problem with this approach is that without flow control the water keeps getting colder and risks freezing the pipes so after some number of hours they have to shut it off again.

I've just talked to Tim and he is aware of the issue and has put some calls in, but we'll probably have to wait until Monday (a predicted hot day) before we see any action. Talk about bad timing.
