Not hot at all.  And I tend to sleep hot naturally (i.e., always trying to cool down).  Mind you, we're rocking pretty sweet central AC (which of course is now off), so it will be interesting to see how it will feel next summer.

I realized the other day that I no longer have to (eventually) roll onto my left side because of an achy right hip. This happened a few weeks after getting the Endy but I didn’t make the connection, I just... never had the discomfort again and stopped thinking about it.

Is the space adjacent to the candy shop (I think Tout de Sweet) occupied now then if only the waterfront space is left?

The new resteraunt, Cera, occupies the space next to the candy shop too.

Right, thanks. In my mind the candy shop had a spot to its right but I now realize that there isn't.

As someone that grew up with the Janion as a boarded up wreck, that photo really is a dream come true.

The life that the redeveloped Janion has breathed into this part of downtown makes all the delays on the Northern Junk project even more tragic.

Indeed, it’s an amazing achievement and one that is literally the symbol of everything this website’s membership fought for all those years ago.

Cheers to that.

A coworker of mine who's a relative of the owner of Cafe 1891 said that the plans are to dedicate a good chunk of the plaza to outdoor seating in peak season. I could see this ending up as a very dynamic public space once the remaining storefront in the Janion fills in and once the bridge underpass and Pearl Residences portions of the DF Walkway open up.

Imagine how dynamic this area will be in a generation or two when the Northern Junk project finally gets approved.

There's a building permit in for Edward Jones. Can't confirm it's the waterfront space, the address on the permit is 1610 Store Street and the purpose is to "create new commercial space."

I sure as hell hope that's not the waterfront space, but I don't see any other retail units, or where "new commercial space" could be created. That would be a waste of a prime spot.

Opportunity Lost?

An Edward Jones?  That's going to make this end of the DFW vibrant.

Super nice office for EJ though.

Where's the Client Parking?  When people go to see their "financial advisor", they like to take the car and park. The robbins lot will soon be a thing of the past...

Edward Jones goes highrise

The Daily Courier - Kelowna

Steve MacNaull Oct 1, 2013

Edward Jones Investments adviser Konrad Pimiskern of Kelowna is the first in Canada to move his office from a neighbourhood storefront to a highrise.

"It's part of the company's new initiative to move some offices into office towers," explained Pimiskern.

"It's upscaling our image. A lot of clients are thrilled we're moving out of the strip malls and into office buildings."

Where's the Client Parking?

Don't bother us with trifles. There's a hard and fast rule in the modern brick-and-mortar business scene: any commercial unit -- no matter how unlikely or unsuitable it might seem to be at first glance -- can successfully support either an investment place, a nail salon, or a marijuana store.
