I know there was some speculation as to the commercial tenants in this building (i.e. Save-on-Foods, Starbucks, BC Liquor Store), but only Save-on-Foods being confirmed.

Just wanted to point out that the Starbucks will be located within the Save-on-Foods, as confirmed by Bosa and CoV signage permits. Will be interesting to see how that impacts whether or not a competing cafe leases one of the other commercial units.

Right! They’ve got at least one (maybe two) such arrangements locally already.

Well there is the Tillicum Save On with Starbucks. The Oak Bay has Timmies. I think that there might be a Starbucks in the Uni Heights one but not certain...

Visit my blog at: https://www.sidewalkingvictoria.com

It has a whole new look!

Sidney Save-On has Starbucks as well. There is a full Starbucks out front of Oak Bay Save-On, but Tim's and Starbucks don't really compete in the same coffee-space...

Many of the former Safeway stores had Starbucks locations inside, and Save-On kept that model when they took over. Are there any Save-On Foods with a Starbucks that were not formerly Safeway locations?

The Starbucks kiosk in the new Save On Foods can already be seen through the window.

Save-on-Foods now has their signage up. This location will feature a S-o-F Kitchen. Sounds like this could be very convenient for someone like me.  :)

Sort of off-topic (forgive me), but about half of the sidewalk along the centre portion of the north side of the 900 block of Pandora has been removed; even the bike lane has been closed for this project!  Does anyone know why this might be happening at this time? It seems to me if the proposal for 926-932 Pandora goes ahead, the sidewalk will have to be rebuilt anyway.

Based on the City's daily street fax document, it would appear to be an internal CoV concrete pour...so new sidewalk perhaps? Maybe they're replacing an underground service line?

I think the SOF in Langford has a "Save on Foods Kitchen" too but I haven't been in it...

So pour a new sidewalk in 2019 and then again in the next 18 months-2 years when the new building happens. Brilliant.

It's possible they just lay down asphalt in the interim like they usually do when there is the need for new concrete within the next year or two anyways.

Not necessarily, unless the plan for 926 Pandora is to have the sidewalk in a different location. The City can also just have the developer pay a latecomer fee for the work previously completed. All that is worked out through the site servicing design during the Building Permit review.

If the CoV is re-pouring the current driveways then they will need to be replaced when a new building is complete.

The City can also just have the developer pay a latecomer fee for the work previously completed

So the CoV delays approval of the redevelopment project, goes ahead with their own work on the existing sidewalk, then charges the developer a fee for replacing the sidewalk again in a couple of years? Something about this doesn't sit well with me.

In any case, this is getting considerably off-topic, so if the mods want to move this post, please do.

If the CoV is re-pouring the current driveways then they will need to be replaced when a new building is complete.

And both of those driveways will be removed assuming the current plan for that project goes forward
