Thanks for that photo, it really shows off the project well! This is a great addition to the neighborhood, far more beneficial than the Mason St. Farm. It seems like only yesterday we were dealing with the public consultation fiasco.

Don't worry. The Wellburn's proposal will bring out the torch and pitchfork brigade again before too long.

Now if the "farms" on the north side of Mason street could get redeveloped, this area would really start to shine.

Don't even really need to redevelop them. Just lift them up and put them on the roof like what's happening here and at the Wade!

Save-on-Foods is confirmed opening a day later than planned, on August 9. Also it looks like there are some residents moved in to the townhouse style units.

The trees have now gone in along Vancouver Street. I guess they want to make sure things look as good as possible at ground level for the big S-o-F opening this week.

What an improvement - and it makes one wonder what kind of hallucinogens certain NIMBY neighborhood association members in this rinky dink town must surely be on: how else to explain the cacophony and the howls of protest and self righteous indignation by the NPNA about this development? How if that "towering" condo - all six floors of it - were ever to be built the sun would cease to shine, how the panoramic view across Pandora Avenue of (what exactly - scenes of human misery?) would disappear forever, and how dogs and cats would engage in unnatural relationships if this development were ever to proceed?
Who in their right mind would not prefer this scene and the bustle of activity that will result from the presence not only of a major shopping venue but of more residents to an area that was desperately in need of just such an infusion of....life....to that travesty of social and human distress and squalor that routinely greeted parents of the children that attended St Andrews elementary each week for years, if not decades previous?
Each Monday morning of those school years being little more than a veritable seek and destroy mission to clear off the playground the plethora of used dirty needles and condoms, empty booze bottles, cigarette butts and the occasional passed out street person, usually near the swing set. I know because for a few years I was one of those parents.
