Luke and his team, featured on front of latest Douglas Magazine, use data to choose neighbourhoods best served by increased density. Enjoy the show and we love your comments. http://bit.ly/2WQtUfu

Good Afternoon Vibrant Victorians,

29erRadio has launched a new podcast called Rubber Boot Radio - Everything Music including Music . It will be a long format interview show focusing more on the back room parts and how it ticks, rather than the latest song release being marketed.  Starting by-weekly we will go weekly in next few months.  For our first episode we have Kathryn Calder from The New **rnographers and Front Person join our hosts Eric Bramble and Mike Roma. Hope you enjoy it http://bit.ly/2LeOEZ2

You mean Ms. Calder's appointment as the new CoV "artist-in-residence" isn't a full time gig?

She's a guest, not a host. And much of that role is engaging with the community, so a podcast is a good avenue to do that. Also, maybe she's doing this on her own time, in which case, she can do what she wants. Geez man, calm down.

...Geez man, calm down.

I'd like to know which part of my above statement wasn't calm. I merely posed a question. As a taxpayer in the CoV I don't think it's unreasonable to want to know how those "employed" by my largesse are potentially spending their paid time.

Part-time, 20 hours/week according to the terms of reference. See the application form for more details: https://www.victoria...n Residence.pdf

Oh ya know, just the whole constant banging on the "I hate that this position exists" drum, to the point you need to make an entirely unnecessary jab at her here.

Besides, what is wrong with public outreach? Is any position that is supported by public funding not allowed outside their cubicle ever? I like it when public servants have the ability to talk about what they do. Public research scientists talking about their research in a podcast is a great example of something that is good use of taxpayer dollars, imo. Similarly, its refreshing when politicians go on air to talk to the public/take questions. Much better than being inaccessible. Welcome to the evolving landscape of how humans communicate.

Sorry, the position is a joke so anything else she does or gets involved in becomes part of the joke

First off, thanks for all the comments. I did forget to mention Kathryn's new association with the city. Based on our interview, Kathryn has been involved with music for most of her life and probably agreed to take on the gig of artist in residence to promote arts in general and that needs a face. Hope you enjoy the show and our future posts.

Outside of what’s in the show, did Gislason touch on whether he believes the SIPP will remain a going concern following the unsuccessful bid for federal funding?

If I remember correctly the funding was for a specific project so wont impact their day to day operations.

I believe that SIPP has been told that funding will continue for another year. The mandate seems to keep changing though. Other than producing a few nice brochures, powerpoints and speeches, I can't think of anything that they have actually accomplished for the millions that they have spent.

Which town would this be? It seems to me 8 people with more-or-less the same agenda run the CoV.
