From what I've heard I don't think you're going to be looking at 2000 people there at once, it's spread out over a month after all.
And the news keeps quoting 1800, which is just the number of people who said 'attending' on the Facebook page. So if that's like other Facebook events in my experience (WHY DOES NOBODY COME TO MY PARTIES??) it'll mean about 180 people.
True, this.

Also I gotta say there's nothing more irritating than the sanctimonious wailing of surfers who think they somehow own public land (which happens on this island). They always try to pepper their argument with environmental claims, but no, they just don't want other people around their surf spots.
Speaking about surfers, some instances of people coming up on secluded and coveted surfing spots on the Island have resulted in bad sportsmanship, vandalism, even violence. The surfing culture here has come to stake ownership over certain coastal areas and they'll be damned if anyone comes along who wants to get in on the waves or make use of coastal waters.

I post some facts with an example of how hippies are being singled out and you delete my post.
Is talking about depends diapers on old people tabboo or against the rules of engagement.
I did not post anything vulgar nor was it obscene.

Yeah there's been problems at Jordan River before with legit violence from surfers trying to prevent others from using "their water".
And from the TC:
Cumberland resident Neil Borecky, a Mount Cain Alpine Park Society director who surfs at Raft Cove...
Borecky, who saw the garbage left near Bamfield, hopes authorities will shut down the area. “Or a few of us might be heading up to form a blockade,” he said.
Oh so he's threatening to bring his surf buddies up to get into a physical confrontation? Not surprised.
Sounds like the typical situation where surfers are claiming environmental concerns but just want people off their turf.

Why such censorship on this site.

You had double-posted by mistake and one of these posts was deleted. It looks like you had begun editing the first of the two double posts (just above mine on the previous page) while the other was being deleted. Sometimes these sorts of things can happen but this was not intentional and I hadn't noticed this until this morning.

Yup, here we go again. Like I said, the chances of a large group actually making it out to Raft Cove are slim. That's not to say it won't happen but the logistics of getting to the Island then traveling to such a remote spot will be a tough call for many who wouldn't have thought twice about attending an event in the interior.
