This is the first year I remember where we didn't see the Simpsons truck...

The welding truck rocked it out again. NEW RULE, no more beeping mono-syllable air horns. No matter how hard you try, it does not sound like Frosty the Snowman. Pre-recorded music encouraged. Christmas music optional.

The Truck Parade is December 3rd!
At the Ogden Point terminal a light show is planned. Thanks to HB for the info.

I'm surprised the event hasn't been pushed out of Victoria due to the reckless burning of fossil fuels and wanton disregard for the environment and peaceful enjoyment of the neighbourhoods lining Dallas Road.
We're sorry, this year's IEOA Christmas Truck Convoy will be replaced by the GVCC Holiday Parade.

another great year! they had a GPS set up this year so you could follow the parade route, it came in handy when the kids were asking "how much longer?"

I didn't know that. Could it... could it possibly have been a trial of GPS on the BC Transit Santa Bus?
There was a guy standing next to us at Uptown tracking the parade's progress on his phone, I was assuming it was twitter or something.

Yes, I made us of this myself. Was really accurate. Went for a few walks while waiting because of the GPS. LOVE the truck parade.

This was the GPS for the truck parade:
Showed where the first and last truck was. Would have been useful last year when for some reason there was a gap in Oak Bay Village and folks started leaving in the middle.
All went smoothly this year, no gap, just went by too fast! Because, yeah, it is not an actual parade.
Thanks to all the folks who spend so much time dressing up their trucks!

And thanks to all the folks, like todd the octopus , who video the truck parade, so we can watch it again. Cause as I said it goes by too fast!

the tracker was very accurate! i think this was the first year and i imagine with the success of it, they will continue.. i know they give approx times but it always seems to run behind.. it also helped when trying to avoid the route while driving home after lol
