Whenever I’m in the jump seat all you see is sky when you get up to speed. Some side front visibility.

A forward facing camera wouldn’t be rocket appliances to install methinks.

70,000 takeoffs and landings here annually? Where did I read that.

I think generally any system that actually shows you in real time where you are going - with limited steering - at 90mph is good.

Like driving at night with all these yahoos with their high beams on, or even worse, the “automatic” high beams, lol. For a few seconds you’re ripping along, just assuming there is nothing in front of you because you can’t see.

The noise created by the engine(s) of an aircraft are for the most part behind it. The captain of the watercraft is surrounded with his own engine noise plus wind and water noise.
My guess is that the captain didn’t hear that aircraft at all until it took the roof of his boat off.

Even if it wasn't plain to see before the crash, it was definitely plane to sea afterward.

Does this mean the "Flights N’ Flowers" program was not well received?

I did not quite understand how those flights would work with nobody at the terminal to check anyone in.

I think it's interesting/notable that it might have had to make that quick turn to get away from trees.  Might just be the perspective, but it was fun to watch.

Floatplanes from nothern climes that have been hangered for the winter, use "dollies" to take off on a runway. They are mounted on wheeled dollies, proceed down the runway and once they lift off the dolly comes to a stop and is retrieved. In the fall they can land in the grass beside a runway and then get lifted onto a dolly to taxi in.

Life's a journey......so roll down the window and enjoy the breeze.
