Quite interesting, lots of stats.

It can lift off at 14% angle (grade?), and apparently planes must be able to do at least 6.7% , and the original Beaver can barely make that.

Time for take-off has gone from 40 seconds to 27.

How close is this?  I recall when they started playing and testing with it, thinking that's going to take forever...

I think they are a small part of a much larger campaign.

Kenmore Air is adding a new service between Victoria and Washington state starting in May.

The Seattle-based airline will offer the seasonal service between Tacoma and Victoria’s Inner Harbour beginning May 15 and running until Sept. 15, in collaboration with Puyallup Tribe.

The daily flight will leave the Inner Harbour at 10:10 a.m., make a 15-minute stop at Friday Harbor and arrive in Tacoma around 11:45 a.m. It will then leave Tacoma at 2:45 p.m., stop at Friday Harbor for 30 minutes and land in the Inner Harbour around 4:35 p.m.

New Harbour Air routes on tap

Harbour Air says it’s planning to offer new routes from Vancouver to Campbell River and Ucluelet, as well as daily service to Seattle next summer to take advantage of the influx of visitors coming for the FIFA World Cup next year.

“We’re responding directly to what our guests and communities are asking for: more choice, more flexibility, and more reliable travel,” said Chris Fordyce, the airline’s chief commercial officer. “With the FIFA World Cup 2026 set to bring global attention to our region, Harbour Air is ready to welcome visitors from around the world.”

Harbour Air is also offering its first-ever winter flights from Vancouver to Tofino, with four-times-a-week service starting in late October.

And the company says wheeled flights between Victoria International Airport and Vancouver International will return this winter.

Vancouver-Seattle flights will become a seasonal offering that’s expected to return in March.

When asked why customers should choose his airline over the established Harbour Air, Wright pointed to comfort and performance.

“The planes are a bit smaller and more comfortable, and they're faster, and so I would say the comfort,” Wright tells Capital Daily.

Does that even make sense?  Our planes are smaller and faster.

Like 4 minutes faster on the 35-minute route?

Is smaller more comfortable?

I’ll be on a seair flight today, I’ll report back. I think they are more comfortable, yes, maybe just because they are newer and the seats are in better condition. $75 from Yvr south to Ganges harbour, and four hours quicker than BCF. No brainer.

Weather looks ok too.

Is it just me, or do some Harbour Air planes allow a lot of exhaust into the cabin? Sometimes you step out of the plane and you smell like Calvin Klein Jete Petrole.

I think it was not that long ago that Seair still had some piston planes.

I’ve flown seair plenty of times. Newer planes less stinky and yes they are loud but I don’t really notice any difference.

Also $1.50lb for overweight baggage. Harbour air is $3. We are coming back with 60lb worth of bags, $16 in extra charge.

Good coffee in the waiting lounge. I know more than a few folks here like yvr south just fine.

That wifi is pretty good too, Speedtest was about 300mbit down.

Looks like around 9 passengers is as high as you can get for a single-engine plane.

And that's pretty rare too.
