Toronto Star handling the Butts resignation with extra soft baby gloves. They even manage to slip a few compliments of Trudeau for good measure 😂 absolutely hilarious

Today we’ve got one headline on the CBC, aptly titled “SNC Lavalin scandal so far: plenty of drama, few facts.”

NP has several SNC-related stories and none are quite as dismissive.

^some nuggets from that article.

"Angus offered his own, highly-partisan version of the events that make up the SNC-Lavalin affair"

"The Conservatives are just as eager to convince Canadians there's a cover-up here"

"But this is an election year, and this story carries the whiff of scandal from the highest reaches of the Trudeau government. So the opposition is taking it all as gospel"

Anyone who doesn't see the blatant bias at the CBC is not looking very hard

One oddity that has come to light [at least to me, anyway] in all of this is that in Canada, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice are the same person.

If I am understanding things correctly, the Attorney General is accountable to the Sovereign and the Sovereign only. Meanwhile, the Minister of Justice reports directly to the First Minister and sits in Cabinet. The Minister of Justice, therefore, is required to tow the line - as it were - regarding Cabinet decisions. Easy to see how things get murky.

One of the outcomes of this whole affair should be that an independent Attorney General position is created and this person sits outside of Cabinet (as is the case in the UK).

https://twitter.com/...927192728354816

Liberals and media continually insult Canadians. Now top politician calls Canadians ASSASSINS Trudeau says construction workers are racists Hussen calls us Racist Bigots Butts calls us Nazis McKenna calls us Climate Deniers Now they want our vote?

I think they have the same advisors as Lisa Helps

'Defence lawyer Christine Mainville told the judge that talks between the Crown and PCO about the Norman case may have been worse than what's been alleged in the SNC-Lavalin affair, because the alleged interference could have been more direct.'

all this stuff is a bit too much inside baseball for the general public to get their heads around. I’m not sure it’s significant towards public opinion.

I dunno, the words "Trudeau" and "Subpoena" might do the trick

And small business owners are not paying their fair share of taxes because of Liberal-introduced tax policies, Trudeau said (without the Liberal-introduced part). That’s another poke at hard working Canadians.

And we’ve already forgotten Morneau’s sudden share sale ahead of the stock’s value dip.

Especially in light of all the hard work his office was apparently doing for giant corporations like SNC Lavalin

Expat Canadians will be able to vote in the 2019 election. The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled that expats have the right to vote in federal elections.

Not sure I agree with the ruling or not given something like 10% of Canadians don't live in Canada.

Here's an interesting take from David Frum.

Trudeau refuses to answer Scheer's question, who called the meeting between the PM and the former AG, the PM/PMO, or the AG?

"This is a very simple yes, or no, question," Scheer says.

Over and over and over Scheer repeats the question, and over and over and over Trudeau goes off about Canadians and jobs while refusing to answer.

Predictions for today's by-election? Will Jagmeet get a seat? Will the liberals suffer from scandals? Will the PPC exceed expectations?

Jagmeet will likely get the seat; its a strong NDP riding. PPC will barely register, IMO.

Has Trudeau ever answered a question from opposition directly?
