Could be because the Co-op & Save On stations didn't jump to 154.. They went to 152.X. And then potentially the others followed.

Wait, seriously? California is at 4.99/gallon? That's about 1.65 CAD/litre! I thought Vancouver had the highest prices on the continent. Guess not.

Saw a quote for getting FedEx to take some oversize packages across town. The fuel surcharge was $36. That's in addition to the delivery charge. That's some expensive gasoline; must be hand-distilled by the Crown Prince himself.

British Columbians should brace for possible loss of natural gas service and soaring gasoline prices after an Enbridge natural gas line ruptured north of Prince George.
Natural gas supplier FortisBC has asked one million customers to lower their thermostats and limit other gas use as much as possible while the damage is repaired. About 700,000 homes in northern B.C., the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island could temporarily lose gas service altogether.
The pain will extend to the gasoline pumps as well, with prices expected to break $1.60 a litre by Friday and $1.65 by Saturday in Metro Vancouver.

Brace yourself. Completely outside of the natural gas pipeline, there is pain coming.

That's a great price but I think that I would negate any savings by driving out there to fill up.

Prices have dropped to $1.289.
It's so weird how all those things like reduced production, or tight supply, or whatever other bullshit they come up with the justify jacking the price up to 1.50+ only happens in the summer... but some how never seems to happen in the winter when the prices dip (but rarely below where they were the year before).
