Ford Motor Company today announced plans to assemble F-Series Super Duty pickups at its Oakville Assembly Complex in Ontario, Canada, starting in 2026, boosting production of one of the company’s most popular and profitable vehicles.
The move to add production of up to 100,000 units of its best-selling Super Duty to Oakville expands Super Duty production across three plants in North America, including Kentucky Truck Plant and Ohio Assembly Plant, which are operating at full capacity. It also paves the way to bring multi-energy technology to the next generation of Super Duty trucks, giving customers more freedom of choice and supporting Ford’s electrification plans.

In total, Ford plans to invest approximately $3 billion to expand Super Duty production, including $2.3 billion to install assembly and integrated stamping operations at Oakville Assembly Complex. When complete, Oakville Assembly Complex will be a fully flexible plant.
Boosting Super Duty assembly will initially secure approximately 1,800 Canadian jobs at Oakville Assembly Complex, 400 more than would initially have been needed to produce the three-row electric vehicle. Unifor-represented employees at Oakville Assembly Complex will return to work in 2026, a full year earlier than previously planned.
The increased production also adds approximately 150 jobs at Windsor Engine Complex, which will manufacture more V8 engines for Super Duty.

Spy photos: Ford testing heavier-duty F-150 Lightning EV with hub motors?
And Ford is benchmarking a Tesla Cybertruck
https://www.autoblog...Kg8JmdF3ivvE8Y4
Spy photographers have given us our first look at a new set of Ford F-150 test mules being put through their paces alongside a Tesla Cybertruck. While it makes sense for Ford to test its all-electric pickup against the latest competition, we're far more interested in how this truck is decked out than we are in its competitive intentions. Why? Well, these could be the first Ford prototypes on the road with in-wheel (AKA hub) motors, which could be a big step forward both for the F-150 and for hub motor tech itself, which has enjoyed a rather long gestation period due to its inherent drawbacks. But let's get to the pics.

Tesla’s sales in California plunge with more competitors moving in
The automaker accounted for 53.4% of the state's battery-electric car market in the first half, down from 64.6% a year ago
Tesla’s new-car registrations fell 24% in California in the second quarter, the third time in a row the carmaker’s sales have fallen in the Golden State, according to a report released Thursday by the California New Car Dealers Association.
While the Model Y remains the state’s top-selling car, the Elon Musk-led company has seen its market share falter throughout the year. Tesla accounted for 53.4% of California’s battery-electric car market in the first half, down from 64.6% a year ago, the CNCDA report said. Overall Tesla sales in California are down 17% so far this year.
