Due to the vagueness of the post, a lot of people assume that it was the Citified article that Obee was responding to.
A lot of people lump all these sites together because of the known close connection.
Don’t pretend like you aren’t aware of that.
Matt.

I post 10 TC articles per day, and 12 Victoria Buzz articles.
You guys that are friends know of the connection. The general public makes no connection.

Don’t you read the comments on some of those posts? Many people sure do.
Matt.
I never read comments on my FB posts. If I did that I’d slow down in posting.
But I’m aware of this. If it’s a National Post article I’m slammed as anti Canada. If it’s a CBC post there are few comments.... except when it’s against Trudeau. Then again I’m slammed as anti Canada.
I take solice in the fact right wingers are tooo busy working and employing Canadians to post on Facebook.

We're all connected. All of us media guys, especially independent media guys, know each other. Just like you, Matt, are connected with a myriad of restaurateurs in Victoria. Don't pretend you're not.

Ok so I said I don't link to paywall sites. What's the use. Today I am making an exception.
Despite what you might read elsewhere, we have no intention of shutting down this year, next year or in any year after that.

Some online sources, such as Mike Kozakowski’s Citified.ca, have a high regard for accuracy and accountability. They deserve their success.

I had a Times paper route, and back then they had contests for signing up new subscribers. I would ride my bike up the main roads looking down side streets for moving trucks.
I won several trips over to Vancouver with a bunch of other carriers, some who were delivering the Colonist.
In later years I worked on one of the first web offset presses on the island, producing the Leader papers and the university Martlet.
I have already read some of the online version of the TC this morning, but will read the paper version again a bit later with my morning coffee.
It's my way of starting the day.

Look, 6 of their colleagues lost their jobs in the last 6 months. I understand the fear. But why not question their employer, rather than outside influences?
The question is, what does their employer plan to do in January 2019? Because the Glacier guy I spoke to said that the company has no intention of paying them the salaries they enjoy now, after the contract ends.
