Are both towers approved, or just the one?

“What we’re getting is one building after another that basically all look the same,” said councillor Pamela Madoff.

I think her concern has some merit in this instance, it being a two-tower project with a very similar look for both. I wonder if she's now revisiting her take on earlier & very unique projects like the Falls and Shutters?

In any event, wouldn't this be an easy thing to address? Start encouraging or even *requiring* large projects to have forms, elements, colours, materials, and rooflines that Victoria doesn't already exhibit in abundance.

But wait a second here. Madoff made a big stink about the unique mini-tower concept for Northern Junk, did she not?

Ms "arbiter of good taste" makes another ironic statement. I'd like to see some evidence of the recent proposals (on the scale of "YonY") that tried to be visually different that Pam enthusiastically supported.

And believe it or not, many of the "old town" buildings that Pam swoons over, all look very much alike themselves.

Does anyone recall her support for the earlier proposals for the Crystal Court site? The Admiral's Inn pyramid?

The picture of this building in the "coming this spring" add on the right side of VV isn't particularly flattering. I'm still a bit dismayed that the ADP or whoever it was thought it represented an exciting new style for Victoria. Then again, we still haven't really seen good renderings of it from various angles. Chard had some great images of the Juliet back in the day.

In the constant din of height and affordability, innovative design gets drowned out.

Victoria is the Constantinople of Canada's west, I believe Camosack is the Istanbul of Canada's west.

/too obscure?
