I thought monocles were always at least 50% off.  :P

I always wondered about monocles. It seemed weird, but now laser surgery will adjust one eye but not the other and the brain adjusts.  Will monocles come back as an investment?

I was hoping for infrastructure funding from some government in the next 30 years

I live in a house that straddles the Victoria / Oak Bay border. You can definitely tell where Oak Bay begins. The sidewalk ends, the line on the road is barely visible and the road way is just a bunch of asphalt patches.

“Debt a near certainty as Oak Bay faces infrastructure shortfall“

“..report finds even if the district increases reserve contributions to sustainable levels starting in 2022, debt would still be required between 2026 and 2069. At current funding levels, the district would need to borrow $855 million and incur an interest expense of approximately $395 million to fund infrastructure replacement…”:

2022: “Major maintenance slated for historic Tod House in Oak Bay”

“..and the exposed stone chimney will be lime-washed.

A concrete porch outside the kitchen, not part of the original building, will be removed as it is causing damage to the historical timbers that support the house. The grounds around the house will be regraded and...”: https://www.saanichn...use-in-oak-bay/

“..According to Belyk’s account, Mr. Evans hired contractors in 1947 to help him with some much-needed renovations. One of the projects was the addition of a furnace near the front of the house. While digging a deep pit for the equipment, the contractors came across the corpse of a woman in chains. She was believed to have been one of John Tod’s wives.

The Daily Colonist reported that an anatomist was called in who said the body had been soaked in lime. Most terrible of all, the woman’s head was missing. It was determined that the body was likely an Asian woman, though it was difficult to say for sure. Her bones were so badly decomposed that they crumbled when they were touched.

Daily Colonist stories that followed claimed the activity in the house ceased with the removal of the body...”: https://www.timescol...d-house-4655794

I would think realistically if one randomly dug hole turned up a body there could be more. I assume ground-penetrating radar has never been used on this site nor has it been fully exhumed
