Infamous local convicted human-traffickers Shermineh Sheri Ziaee & two sons Kamran & Kourosh Miralingahi now living in Central Saanich, according a friend in law enforcement.
https://beta.ctvnews.../1_4799299.html
Apparently the trio are renting a house in Central Saanich, near Newman Park.
Block watch seniors and young families in the neighborhood are quite upset about it, not just because of their human trafficking background - apparently they have 3 pit bulls too, and they've been known to be involved in dog fighting... how nice.
Really makes you wonder how these people are allowed to continue living among us.

‘Swatting’ incident leads to heavy police presence in Courtenay
Over the weekend, an unspecified report that resulted in heavy police presence in a Courtenay neighbourhood ended up being a swatting incident.
Comox Valley RCMP does not specify what the call alleged was occurring, but it resulted in a “coordinated and extensive” police response to the 2700 block of Conrad Road on Sunday.
“Police quickly determined that there was no truth to the allegations made in the initial report and that this was a swatting incident,” RCMP said in an email to CHEK.

Man arrested in Oak Bay after throwing rocks at police
Oak Bay Police says a man has been arrested after he threw rocks at police and broke the windshield of a police vehicle.
On March 11 shortly after 10:30 p.m., police were called to the 2000 block of Cadboro Bay Road for reports that a man was throwing rocks at windows.
After police told the man he was under arrest, the man threw a rock at the police officer, who ducked and avoided being hit. The man threw another rock and damaged the front windshield of the police vehicle.
Police then warned the man they would use a conducted energy weapon (CEW), at which point the man surrendered and was taken into custody without the need to use the CEW.
The man was held in custody and appeared in court, then was released with conditions. He has been charged with two counts of mischief, assault against a police officer and assault with a weapon.

Thieves swipe gift cards, lotto tickets from Nanaimo minor hockey tournament
Mar 18, 2024
NANAIMO — Opportunistic, and perhaps well-researched, thieves made off with gift cards and lottery tickets meant for silent auctions and raffle draws.
While closing the Nanaimo Ice Centre down for the night on Friday, March 15 around 11:30 p.m., City staff noticed activity in a warm room above NIC-2, where prizing was locked away during the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association’s year-end tournament for U8 and U9 players.
“They were in the process of apparently trying to take the Lego basket, that’s when the City staff had interrupted them and they basically left the Lego basket and took off on foot.”
“It’s obviously suspicious they knew exactly where to go,” Fipke said. “I believe they had knowledge obviously there was a tournament going on and that’s where we typically store that material.”
He’s hoping security footage will indicate not only who the thieves were, but also how they got access to the room.

The moment I saw Marguerite Telesford’s picture on the front page, I became a statistic: another outraged friend of the parents of a murdered daughter, seeing her killer gain an improvement in his incarceration conditions.
In that moment, I was transported back to the evening in 1992, my first Bible study in her parents’ home. I saw her beautiful portrait on the wall, and asked who she was.
That’s when I heard the story, told quietly, without anger, but the pain and heartache in their voices and eyes was vivid. I felt guilty about bringing it up for them to relive yet again.
The litany of her murderer’s crimes is a list of reasons to deny him this step; that they’re fully acknowledged by the parole board, and day parole was granted anyway, beggars belief.
How has this system gone so horribly wrong? Didn’t the people who run the prison system get the message last summer, with regard to the murderer of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy?
I don’t want to hear that they’re just applying the guidelines. Change the guidelines.
We, the public, can only hope and pray that they guessed right about this man; that some other young woman and her parents aren’t going to pay the price for their error.

Indeed.
The Canadian "justice" system may be even more broken than the Canadian healthcare system.

West Shore RCMP:
On March 22 2024, at approximately 9:55 p.m., the West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a F350 pick up truck [that turned out to be a Ram truck] crashing into a street sign near Craigflower Rd and Admirals Rd in View Royal.
A witness advised police the truck was going at a high rate of speed when it rode up onto the side walk and crashed into a street sign that read Report Impaired Drivers. A West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit Officer attended the scene however the vehicle had already fled and was last seen heading toward Victoria. The officer observed the vehicle left behind debris including the impaired driving sign and the vehicle license plate at the scene and notified Victoria Police Department of this.
Minutes later, Victoria Police Department officers located the truck on Craigflower Rd and Catherine Street. They conducted a traffic stop and pursued an impaired driving investigation.
“We want to thank both the witness and Victoria Police Department for acting so quickly. This was a dangerous impaired driver who was taken off the roadway just minutes after the report to police came in,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
