^^ not strange if you look at their mug shot. These are bad dudes and they were likely brought in from elsewhere to settle some business. They are not likely to be spotted at a local Starbucks after messing up whatever they messed up.

Edit: Mike just proved me wrong

Of course our local guy might just have a similar face, but not the guy police are looking for.

Doran is a resident of Sooke and has a long local criminal history. Laughren has one of the longest records I’ve seen, including numerous publication bans, again all local. And Hawkins seems to be a relative newcomer to the field of head bashing.

Of course our local guy might just have a similar face, but not the guy police are looking for.

Looks like the same suspect has struck again. Photos taken on a BC Transit bus believed to be the suspect have been posted to our Facebook page.

At approximately 9:30 pm on February 27, 2020, a 17 year-old girl was approached by a man on a BC Transit bus who began engaging her in conversation. When she exited the bus, the man followed her and began to make unwanted sexual advancements towards her, including unwanted touching. The girl was not physically injured during the sexual assault and she has been offered various resources. This occurred in the area of the Royal Oak bus exchange.

The man was described as approximately 30 years old, dark complexion, 5’7”, black hair, clean-shaven, and wearing ‘skinny’ jeans. The man spoke with an accent and it is believed that English was not his first language.

**Update**

On March 4, 2020 a 25-year-old woman contacted the Saanich Police to report that a man had assaulted her near a bus stop on February 26, 2020 at 10:00 pm. The man engaged this woman in conversation, followed her off the bus and began to make unwanted sexual touching. This occurred in the Quadra Street corridor.

Investigators now believe that these two incidents are related.

We are releasing a photo of the suspect and are seeking any assistance from the public in identifying the man. Of note, is that he has a prominent balding spot on the back of his head which is not shown in the released photographs. On both occasions, he got on the bus in the area of Uptown Mall.

“As we continue to investigate this file to identify the suspect, we would like to remind the public to be alert and aware of your surroundings, walk with a partner if possible, and always carry a charged cell phone.”

If you have any information about this incident, please contact us at 250-475-4321. To report anonymously, please call the Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Shooting in Langford last night.

According to Twitter posts, the Langford Fire Rescue blue tent is still outside the home and police tape is still up.

By checking Google maps it looks to be the 800 block of Arncote Ave. just off Peatt Rd. I think I pinpointed the address, but in case I'm wrong I don't want to post it publicly.

dead is a 40-year-old woman.

Friends of the woman have identified her to Black Press Media as Angela Dalman, although police have not identified the victim. Dalman is a mother and West Shore resident.

Saggar said the suspect – identified as a 35-year old man – fled the scene in a car before officers arrived. The Vancouver Island Emergency Response team was sent out to look for him and policing agencies in the area were notified about the vehicle and suspect as well.

Around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, the suspect was located by the Saanich Police Department K-9 unit. Saggar said he was safely brought into custody and that he was known to police prior to the shooting.

Police are still trying to confirm how the man and woman knew each other, but Saggar said they do not believe the shooting was due to intimate partner violence.

“This was an isolated incident and we’re still trying to figure out exactly what the relationship was here,” Saggar said.

Both the man and woman were not residents of the home where the shooting took place. Saggar said there was a “gathering of people” at the residence that night where a “disturbance” occurred followed by the shooting.

Big police presence this morning on Mckenzie just before Glanford Avenue.

Multiple police vehicles including ERT type folks wandering around.

The right hand lane was blocked from 9.30 to well after 1.30 pm.

I think we saw RCMP as well. I wonder if it is related to the shooting in Langford.

The victim was not the target of the shooting, according to internet chatter. That might be wrong, however.

Very.
So senseless and tragic. I feel sick for her son. Beyond devestating.

Anthony Singh Dheensaw, 35, is charged with killing Angela Dalman, 40, outside a home on Arncote Avenue around 9:30 p.m. He is also charged with the attempted murder of Derrick Oke, 41, during the same incident. However, Mounties say Dalman was the only person shot duing the altercation.

Why is it second-degree murder?  He pre-planned the execution of someone, brought a gun, aimed (badly) and pulled the trigger.  'Oops, got the wrong person' shouldn't be grounds for reducing it to second-degree.

That will be the argument between the prosecution and defence, I imagine as part of a guilty plea

First degree requires planning and deliberation.  If you're planning to kill Person A, but accidentally kill person B, you kind of didn't plan the murder of person B so it's 2nd degree (since anything that isn't 1st, becomes 2nd).

Yeah, she was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Cleve Dheensaw is a TC writer. Is there any connection to him and the accused?
