I know nothing about firearms. Presumably the above are replicas?

This isn't an issue anymore.  Lisa and Ben are going to make guns illegal in Victoria.  That approach worked so well for drugs.

So we'll make hardcore drugs legal to make people safer and guns illegal to make people safer. Got it.

Attempted-murder trial adjourned for assessment of accused’s mental health

18 Feb 2021

The trial of a Victoria man accused of trying to murder his girlfriend three years ago has been adjourned to determine whether he was suffering from a mental disorder at the time of the alleged offences.

On Wednesday, Mathew Legare applied for a court ordered assessment of his mental condition during the weekend of Aug. 11 to 13, 2018, when he allegedly beat, choked and threatened to kill his former fiancée. The 29-year-old roofer has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, aggravated assault and uttering threats to his former girlfriend, identified by the initials M.K.

B.C. Supreme Court Justice Douglas Thompson granted the order, noting there is some evidence Legare was having mental difficulties at the time.

Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested in Saanich

Goodale is described as an Indigenous man standing 5'11" and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He has several tattoos, including the word "WEED" written on his left hand, the words "CROWN" and" M.H." written on his right hand, and the letters "JJ" tattooed on his right arm.

Apparently, Mr. Goodale has some hand tattoos and while "Weed" might be obvious, "MH" and "JJ" might be names of his significant-others but what about "Crown"?

Could that be a reference to Crown Royal whisky or perhaps he is a Monarchist?

Crazy thing is, we posted about his disappearance from a halfway house some days ago, as in over a week ago. He was on the lam for quite a while because local police agencies were (presumably) not alerted? It was Nanaimo RCMP that put the call out for him way back, as he's from the Nanaimo area.

Man Disarmed At Gunpoint By Special Duty Officers After Shovel Assault On Bylaw Officers

February 18, 2021 - File: # 21-6599

Victoria, BC – A man was disarmed at gunpoint by officers assigned to a special duty to assist City of Victoria Bylaw officers this morning after he allegedly threatened them with a shovel.

Just before 9 a.m. this morning the special duty officers were notified of a report that City of Victoria Bylaw officers had been confronted by a man wielding a shovel in the area of Cecelia Ravine Park, near the 400-block of Cecelia Road. The Bylaw officers retreated to a safe location and awaited police arrival.

When the special duty officers arrived, the man confronted them wielding the shovel. He initially did not comply with officers’ directions, which caused one officer to draw their service pistol and another to display a conductive energy device (CED). The man then dropped the shovel and retreated to a nearby tent. Officers followed him to the tent where he was arrested without further incident. No one was physically injured.

This incident remains under investigation. If you have information about this incident and haven’t spoke to officers, please call our Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1.

I am sure a couple of social workers would have made the bylaw officer feel quite safe.

Why wasn't the social worker harmony team called in?

the problem is a lack of urban farming opportunities.  he needed an outlet for his shoveling.  why not get him a community grant and a plot of land?

2017:

The Mounties say foul play is suspected in the case of a body found near the Malahat Friday.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit is now investigating and Island District RCMP say an autopsy has been scheduled for later in the week.

The RCMP, the BC Coroners Service and search and rescue crews could be seen at a rest stop and viewpoint area of the Malahat on Friday, when the discovery was first reported. But Police have not said much, such as how long the remains had been there or who found them.

2019:

Two years after the body of a Victoria man was found on the side of the Malahat, Victoria police are asking the public for help finding information on his death.

Richard “Blair” Young was first reported missing on Feb. 15, 2017, a week after the 72-year-old was last seen leaving his Victoria apartment. The case was soon taken over by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU).

https://globalnews.c...young-homicide/

i suspect they probably know who and why.  but don't have enough to go on for a charge.  here is the why:

They also said more than $30,000 in fraudulent transactions were made using Young’s credit cards and bank account after his disappearance.

when a guy is dead and not reporting his credit cards stolen or his bank account compromised the perpetrator can usually steal more money.
