This isn't an issue anymore. Lisa and Ben are going to make guns illegal in Victoria. That approach worked so well for drugs.

So we'll make hardcore drugs legal to make people safer and guns illegal to make people safer. Got it.

Attempted-murder trial adjourned for assessment of accused’s mental health
18 Feb 2021
The trial of a Victoria man accused of trying to murder his girlfriend three years ago has been adjourned to determine whether he was suffering from a mental disorder at the time of the alleged offences.
On Wednesday, Mathew Legare applied for a court ordered assessment of his mental condition during the weekend of Aug. 11 to 13, 2018, when he allegedly beat, choked and threatened to kill his former fiancée. The 29-year-old roofer has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, aggravated assault and uttering threats to his former girlfriend, identified by the initials M.K.
B.C. Supreme Court Justice Douglas Thompson granted the order, noting there is some evidence Legare was having mental difficulties at the time.

Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested in Saanich
Goodale is described as an Indigenous man standing 5'11" and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He has several tattoos, including the word "WEED" written on his left hand, the words "CROWN" and" M.H." written on his right hand, and the letters "JJ" tattooed on his right arm.
Apparently, Mr. Goodale has some hand tattoos and while "Weed" might be obvious, "MH" and "JJ" might be names of his significant-others but what about "Crown"?
Could that be a reference to Crown Royal whisky or perhaps he is a Monarchist?

Crazy thing is, we posted about his disappearance from a halfway house some days ago, as in over a week ago. He was on the lam for quite a while because local police agencies were (presumably) not alerted? It was Nanaimo RCMP that put the call out for him way back, as he's from the Nanaimo area.
Know it all.

I am sure a couple of social workers would have made the bylaw officer feel quite safe.

Why wasn't the social worker harmony team called in?

the problem is a lack of urban farming opportunities. he needed an outlet for his shoveling. why not get him a community grant and a plot of land?

2019:
Two years after the body of a Victoria man was found on the side of the Malahat, Victoria police are asking the public for help finding information on his death.
Richard “Blair” Young was first reported missing on Feb. 15, 2017, a week after the 72-year-old was last seen leaving his Victoria apartment. The case was soon taken over by the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU).

i suspect they probably know who and why. but don't have enough to go on for a charge. here is the why:
They also said more than $30,000 in fraudulent transactions were made using Young’s credit cards and bank account after his disappearance.
when a guy is dead and not reporting his credit cards stolen or his bank account compromised the perpetrator can usually steal more money.
