What are the odds that there would be a Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain Pipeline leak on the eve of their ultimatum deadline?

My truck takes more gas than that. 100 liters is a very tiny spill and probably highlights the safety here. I mean they detected the spill immediately and responded. The alternative transport which is rail based would be a different story.

^ I agree. The politics however will be huge compared to the amount of the spill.

If this happened a couple of years ago we probably wouldn't even have heard about such a minuscule incident. Now it's front page news litterally minutes after the event.

Timing is everything.

How are they handling it? Is it another overblown controversy?

Yep. $12B of tax dollars in total. $4.5B to buy the existing pipeline and $7.5B to twin it. New crown corporation and staff to boot.No worries, the Bank of Canada will just buy more bonds to cover it.

Yup, its a pigs breakfast. Horgan needs to own this and call an election. He's a disgrace.

Trudeau will have great difficulty holding on to power in the next election. Scheer and Kenney were just handed an early Christmas present, lets hope the BC Libs can take advantage of this as well.

This is a national embarrassment!

Kinder Morgan has been a good operator since the 50's, and we scared them away. Screw Horgan.

Screw Weaver as well as he forced this. Horgan's problem is that he loves power so much that he won't risk an election by standing up to him.
