That sounds like the business sold but bca says land sold. Maybe same transaction.

Ah yes! I came back here after thinking that over, and yes, you’re right.

Since this seems like a hot topic again, can anyone give any insights into what comes next for this site and when we can expect some sort of update?

Maybe means the mazda site without the Firehall is going to start pushing ahead. Could be exciting 2023 for that corner!

Alright, I’ve got the details in hand.

I think you guys will be happy. First I’ll need to get a couple of points confirmed.

IIRC, this was a 3 phase development with the affordable housing component and firehall (housing on top of firehall) being the first phase and condos/rentals being part of phases 2 and 3.

If the property was sold presumably any commitments to affordable housing and public spaces would continue to the new buyer.

Or a Rochester-based private medical facility.

Or a proper recreation and senior center like Oak Bay has in order to serve that forest of new condos. Or a new concert hall to anchor some culture in the upper Cook Street area. Actually, your idea of a new medical center and Hospital to service the greatly expanded population is excellent.

By the way when you get over seventy you tend to not do much in the way of clothes shopping.

This city has no plans for additional recreation. Except replacing the pool maybe by 2100.

Hospitals are a provincial responsibility. I think the only way our local health care system could get worse would be to turn any part of it over to the CoV.

Whatever it is, I'm hoping the architecture involves a lot of plain grey or white panels.*

*actually hoping for anything but

Maybe we'll see a revival of pastel stucco and faux, copper-patinaed roofs.

The entire site or just one of the properties?
