Did anyone get a test alert just now? I thought they tested it last week.

I did.  The test was last week.

So, if the test comes through accidentally, is that a pass or fail?

Today’s Alert Ready test was an accidental re-broadcast of last week’s test due to human error.

it’s like when you hit pause or snooze or whatever on your cellphone alarm and it just goes off again next week.

no biggie.

So, should my phone survive a tsunami, one week later, to the day I'll get an ALERT that a tsunami is coming?, and go to higher ground?  That's super helpful. :(

alternately I guess when they set the alert it asked “one time, or recurring?” and they hit the wrong button.

no biggie.

I got the test alert today at the exact same moment I got a text saying I can book my first vaccine appointment, so I didn't mind the fanfare.

When the "big one" comes along, we'll all be glad that the multiple tests of the warning system effectively mean that we can all rush home in order to drown, be buried in rubble, be incinerated by a solar flare, etc ... in the comfort of our own homes!

Safety first.

Not to mention we’re now encouraged to keep our cell phone signals going 24 hours a day and next to our bed.

At this rate I'd be just as happy being swept away by the tsunami.

I don't know why we're relying on such an antiquated network of cell phones to deliver news that a big quake has hit.  I mean, 1) you'd know there was just an earthquake and 2) we're all getting the 5G chips directly implanted with the covid vaccine so.... our brains will simply vibrate when there's a problem.

that’s what the appendix is for if they just haven’t reactivated it yet.
