agree. except the last sentence. the elderly are by and large doing great. low-income people pay almost no taxes at any level.

Indeed. Seniors for decades used to the poorest group. Thanks to a lot of great gov't policies, they aren't. The poorest now are mostly younger.

Thanks to the Great Depression and the inheritances from a generation of savers, seniors as a group are now comparatively well off!

according to twitter sonia theroux has a new job.  is she working at city hall?

https://twitter.com/...653824979124226

It says she has a new gig at Leadnow.

What is funny is that Leadnow spent the last couple of elections trying to unseat the Conservatives and get the Liberals into power and now they are trying to unseat the Liberals which will ultimately return the Conservatives to power..

Are we sure it's government policies and not the greatest wealth generation in the history of the world?

The ongoing message that one's ills are a result of Government policy or the wealthy is a dangerous one.

The funds will come from the 4.3% property tax increase ultimately which is approximately 3 full percentage points above the current Canadian inflation rate of 1.4%.

Helps stated in November 2017 “I think our goal should be to have tax increases of no more than inflation, and that’s going to take a lot of work and a lot of innovation and efficiencies to get there. But I think we can do it.”

https://www.timescol...hike-1.23080667

I'm guessing the work, and innovation and efficiencies aren't quite there yet.........

Councillor Isitt was very exacting on where the funds were coming from and it was a federal gas tax specifically set up for these types of projects

The funds always come from somewhere else. So we are looking at a 4.3% increase plus whatever council finally decides to give to the police.

Has Isitt surrendered his free parking pass yet so he can be at one with the rest of the proletariat?

Maybe they've somehow realized they've already used up their entire ration of stupid for 2019?

The youth council has outlined its project ideas ...Dangers of Plastic...

Will equal time be given to the benefits of plastic or is that part of the issue going to be conveniently forgotten?

There is one. Council needs to debate a "purple day" proclamation and what they are going to do in response to the BC Gov't telling them to take a hike on taxing STRs.
