Just a reminder to please include at least a title with any link. A descriptive paragraph or two is also great if the title doesn't necessarily represent the main article content, and it's helpful to include it if you can.

A speaker critical of B.C.’s sexual-orientation and gender-identity policy in schools is promoting transphobic hate speech and should not be allowed to hold an event at Oak Bay’s Windsor Pavilion, opponents say.

Thursday’s talk by Jenn Smith, called “The Erosion of Freedom: How transgender politics in school and society is undermining our freedom and harming women and children,” has sparked a community backlash. As a result, Oak Bay councillors were expected to receive legal advice Monday night on whether the talk should go ahead.

It should be pointed out that Jenn Smith is herself a transgender woman, and the claims that her views on keeping pro-sex change and fluid gender education out of elementary schools is an incitement to violence is a bit of a stretch, no?

I’ve never heard of this woman before until the local ruckus. Ironically what gives these speakers a wide audience is the attempt to shut them down and censor them wherever they go. It’s a phenomenal form of free advertising.

But here’s what this woman claims, that statistically speaking transgender individuals tend to be on the autism spectrum. She argues that given the propensity for individuals with autism to hyper focus or fixate on issues, the notion they could be female with male sexual organs, and vice versa, can lead to a fixation on the issue and eventually a pursuit of a sex change (I realize what I wrote is overly simplistic, but you get the point).

If what she says is true for even some straight individuals with autism who decide that they are the opposite sex because they’ve convinced themselves of that fact, shouldn’t her point of view be heard by a wider audience? I do sense, though, that Smith’s insistence that parents should have complete control over their child’s exposure to alternative educational courses or classes even on religious or cultural grounds has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

he is a transgender man.  that's how he refers to himself.

In the general population, 1.7% of children present on the autism spectrum. If autism (and other compulsive conditions) was not a causative factor, then we would expect to see autism rates in the transgender community at about the same level.

Unfortunately, that is far from reality.

Depending on what study you look at, autism among transgender kids ranges between 8%up to as high as 55%.

Has the transgender movement gone too far?

It began, commendably, as activism for the rights of that very small number of people who experience persisting discomfort with their biological gender. But it has evolved into an ideological movement to normalize the practice of changing genders — and in the process is crossing ethical lines with a particularly vulnerable subset of young people struggling with issues of gender identity.

A recent article by Elise Ehrhard in Crisis Magazine, a Catholic periodical, addresses the aggressive approach by adult trans activists in recruiting adolescents with Asperger’s Syndrome or other types of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to their cause.

Ehrhard has Asperger’s. As is typical among Asperger’s girls in their adolescence, she preferred the company of boys, with whom she identified cerebrally, a tendency encouraged by the bullying she experienced from other girls.

A quick glance through his website is bizarre, to say the least. The feeling I get is that he is treating transgenderism as an affliction, notably saying that he began "experimenting with transgender behaviour very young" during a traumatic period in his life. He calls transgenderism a "potentially devastating life choice" being promoted by the pharmaceutical industry. That may help explain why he identifies as male and uses male pronouns, but presents as female. Via https://transanityca...n-and-children/

Definitely not a topic I want to wade in to, so I'll just stop at those observations.

the potentially devastating life-choice he speaks to is having transformative surgery or medications too early in life. he advocates for people to be adults before they make those choices.  but now we are leaning towards allowing children to make these medical decisions.  no matter how parents feel.  and we are moving towards laws that will allow medical transition in younger and younger people - that can't be overturned by parents. if a doctor agrees your 6-year-old could be put on a medical transformation plan.

there is plenty of research that suggests children "grow out" of gender dysphoria in many cases.  this speaker feels it's tragic to have a 10 or 12-year-old insist on physical transitioning at that age.

Being prepared is more important than ever, Bradley suggested, because the percentage of young people expressing feelings about wanting to be another sex has skyrocketed from the roughly one out of 1,000 who brought up such ideas in the 1980s.

In the past it was predominantly children between the ages of four and ten who would stun parents by saying, “I think I’m a boy” or “I think I’m a girl.” But researchers say a new wave of North American teenagers, mostly females, are beginning to identity as another sex.

The phenomenon, which Bradley said can be stimulated simply by friends talking about transitioning, is called Rapid-Onset Gender Dysphoria. In this polarized climate it goes without saying the term is controversial.

A key reason many mental health specialists urge great caution in supporting gender switches is that many children grow out of their feelings.

One study of girls with gender dysphoria, a broad term for those who want to change their sex, was lead by the University of Toronto’s Kelley Drummond. The team followed 25 Canadian girlsdiagnosed with gender dysphoria (at the average age of eight) and found, when the girls grew into their early twenties, only 12 per cent still identified with another gender.

Remember Doug Christie and his talks? https://en.wikipedia...ristie_(lawyer) Now that was hate speech!

But here is an excellent

Suffering Mr. Christie's words and opinions is part of the price one pays for upholding and cherishing freedom of speech in a free and democratic society. And society must be willing to accept this price. Mr. Christie's anti-Semitic comments were not akin to the cry of fire in a crowded theatre. His theatre was mostly empty

and then what do you do when parents are like this:

https://www.lifesite...dad-for-not-goi

She has also sought restraining orders against Younger, she is trying to terminate his parental rights, and also seeks to compel Younger to pay for James’s visits with a transgender-affirming therapist and for medical procedures to “transition” James to a girl.

The controversial “treatment” could include hormonal sterilization that could begin in as soon as two years when James turns eight, in preparation for James to later have “sexual reassignment” surgery.

While James’s mother is “all in” on socially transitioning the boy, Heyer writes, providing only female clothes and enrolling him in school with a girl’s name, James exhibits no signs of gender dysphoria when with his father or others, choosing to dress and live as a boy.

“The fact that James changes gender identity depending on which parent is present makes the diagnosis of gender dysphoria both dubious and harmful,” Heyer said.

Furthermore, he writes, the transition therapist has observed as well that James is not consistent, insistent, or persistent in the desire to become “Luna.”

I watched some of that "I Am Jazz" TV show and one complication of her surgery was that she was still only a teenager and not fully developed so there wasn't as much material for the surgeon to work with when making the transition to female.

You can't make a pillowcase out of a handkerchief I guess is what I'm trying to say.

Jesus, what thread is this.

^^ shows how corrupt and pathetic much of the medical field has become. Totally corrupted by the cancer of academia and social justice politics to the point where they will irrevocably mutilate troubled teenagers and pretend it's a serious, necessary surgery

To be technical here, "he" identifies as a Transgender identified male.

The is a slang phrase by radical feminist who believe that only a woman can be a woman and that even with a sex change, the transgender individual has no right to refer to themselves in any female gender pronouns.

------------------------------
From the urban dictionary:

It is A made up word that Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist. came up with in order to deny trans women their basic humanity and right to self determination. A direct attack on the humanity of trans feminine people for nothing more than being themselves.

Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist. That group of feminists that claims that trans women aren't really women, as biological determinism is only a fallacy when it used against them, not when they use it against others.
------------------------------

This individual must have many mental issues to be so self loathing of themselves is either a male or female form.

What I find d amusing is that some of you are using this individual to support your idealism, when in reality, this individual is not only a oxymoron to themselves, but to what you are using to them for to support specific ideals and personal beliefs.
