15-storey condominium tower envisioned for Pluto's Diner property at Cook and View streets

https://victoria.cit...d-view-streets/

Sakura Developments has submitted plans to the City of Victoria to redevelop a Harris Green property home to Pluto’s Diner at 1150 Cook Street.

The proponent, along with a firm identified as 66 Developments Ltd., has envisioned a 15-storey condominium tower comprised of 129 residential units and retail spaces with frontage onto Cook and View streets.

The make-up of the residences will span from studios to two-bedroom suites numbered at four, 99 and 26-units, respectively. [Full article]

Those strong pinks and yellows that were suggested in the (earlier) thumbnail-sized image would be good in the real thing.

It looked sharp but with a funky edge. Without the colour it just looks sharp. That's a funny thing to complain about but you get my point.

I'd be tempted to add more colour to the podium and leave the tower as is.

Some strategic neon lights here and there on the podium might be enough to do the job.

Victoria architects don't do whimsey.

In this case the architect is Vancouver-based NSDA. Their involvement in this project is the first I've heard of the firm.

I thought we were supposed to taint every developer operating in Victoria as somehow being "Vancouver-based"?

Well, not every developer.

The local developers are called "nuts". The Vancouver developers are "a-holes".

The taint is inbetween.

For those wondering about the earlier image, I posted a low quality thumbnail over in the other thread, which was taken from Sakura's homepage
