Based on that pic in Citified's post #372 above I'm going to say the predicted perpetual gloominess of the space running through the middle of that block has so far not lived up to the hype. Not only does that new patio on the Mod look pretty sweet but so do the balconies on the back side of the Tara Place apartments.

How much were you paid to say this?

Hey, I take offense to that. Let's not be confusing wholesome edutainment with paid advertorials.

But seriously, I don't think anyone would be gullible enough to believe that Mike K. has ever paid us.

I’m back from filling up the truck.

Who’s buying the condo?

At the Mod? I hope so but I doubt it. This restaurant was the purchase of a lifetime. That townhouse was as well.

So is there a rooftop common area in this place?

There is an amenity room with a nice outdoor space on the fourth I think. Full kitchen. It’s basically the two bedroom without the bedrooms. Outdoor grills, probably. It wasn’t done when I saw it but there were gas hookups in place.

If there is a rooftop space, I didn’t pay enough to know about it.

Womp womp.

Maybe I was imaginating as I was viewing the building from the ground but doesn't there seem to be a glass railing/partition up on the roof?

edit: as viewed from Fort near Quadra.

Maybe for the penthouse owners.

Pic from Craigdarroch Castle shows the glass railing on the roof of Mod. But there doesn't seem to be anything else up there that would suggest it's a common area as per Yates on Yates, Vivid, Juliet, etc.

Not only can you see Esquimalt town centre and the new retirement place on Admirals Road, but you can also see a couple of buildings in the distance out in the boondocks. Methinks a legitimate highrise out Langford way would actually be quite visible from some spots in town.

The Colwood Corners towers will be for certain. Langford should give us a glimpse of something. Isn’t the 24-storey Scene tower now underway? There’s some dirt being scratched there.

I was just asking. You didn't have to go and make a big Scene.

There is a big hole in the ground at the Scene site now.
