The exit onto the highway can be pretty hairy from that place.

Know it all.

Word is it was indeed a suicide.   Relatively young guy that runs a glass shop in town.

I'm sure the place has lots of cameras.  To tell us the exact story.  Or at least you'd think so.  Can't see any on photos.

You will never hear anything officially. The media doesn't report suicides and even if it wasn't it is FN land so they wouldn't be motivated to say anything either.

Weirdly, at about the time this happened, I was visiting with a friend and talking about the suicides at Niagara Falls. I lived there for a time and didn't know it was a popular suicide location. And, yes, they were never mentioned in the news. I only knew because I worked for the municipality. The drunk guy who fell into the gorge, that would make the local paper. But not the suicides.

How horrible for the bystanders who witnessed that at the Skywalk.

Finally made it here today. Perfect conditions and worth every penny of the admission price.

The joy of being retired (and finally having a decent camera on my phone)

Definitely not the height of tourist season - I wish we'd had that much vacant runway when we were there :) but yes IMO its definitely worth at least one visit especially if you've not been before.

Alternatively for less money you can have a delicious and elegant breakfast t]at the restaurant at the Eyrie Resort with a far more impressive view way up the hill. Step out on the balcony and look to the left and far, far down the hill you will see the top of the Malahat skywalk. The breakfasts really are excellent and the view is simply stupendous.

Being so much closer to the water is nice though, isn’t it?

Having a fantastic breakfast while dining in elegance for less cost is better value. But if you need a closer view of the ocean there are two excellent viewing sites on the Malahat for free with a virtually identical view and they are free.

Since I am not a tourist I actually like to get some value for my money.

Sorry Barrister, your curmudgeonly-ness isn't going to spoil my experience of the Skywalk today.

Imagine eating breakfast and having to look ‘at’ the Skywalk.

Sooo plebeian.
