In stormy weather we watch the sea. I suppose another loss of parking is inevitable. It was nice while it lasted. I notice a lot of seniors park there just to watch the sea.
You know, we bash parking all the time but methinks the counterpoint is pretty strong, re: places like Dallas Road, Clover Point, Willows Beach, Oak Bay Marina, Mt. Tolmie, etc. are going to be difficult if not impossible for many people to enjoy without benefit of an enclosed vehicle at those times of year when the weather is miserable.
I'm sure we've all had that experience of arriving somewhere to enjoy the view, getting out of the car, and then watching most of your party dash back into the car because it's too cold or too windy.
Even below Wharf Street I don't necessarily have an issue with some exposed surface parking. It depends on how much and how it's done.
