This is why we are not a serious country.  Because this is a continuing news item.

Pierre Poilievre is accusing a union representing WestJet employees of "trying to silence freedom of speech" by demanding an apology from the company after the Conservative leader spoke on the PA system on a recent flight.

A video circulating online shows Poilievre making short remarks on a flight that was leaving Quebec City for Calgary Sunday night after the Conservative Party of Canada's convention.

Poilievre's campaign-style speech lasted for about 45 seconds and was met with laughter and cheers from passengers.

______________________________________

But the Conservative leader shot back when asked about the union's statement on Thursday.

Speaking to reporters in Vancouver, Poilievre indicated he has no plans to apologize.

"I think that the union should apologize for trying to silence freedom of speech," he said, suggesting that the crew invited him to speak because they believe in his message.

"People on the plane were just delighted with my common sense remarks."

So according to PP anyone should be able to go on the PA system and and force everyone to listen to their political tirades whether they are good or not.

The plane was at least 95% of Conservative convention-goers.

On the other hand, Trudeau recently got on the PA randomly on some public transit system and subjected everyone to his vile presence.

And Omar did it on a VIA train recently too.

No, not anyone.   Those with permission from the airline, as he indeed had.

Ceba payback punted to dec 2024. Fantastic news.

According to background provided by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland's department, the repayment deadline for CEBA loans to qualify for this partial loan forgiveness is only being extended by a couple of weeks, from Dec. 31, 2023, to Jan. 18, 2024, "recognizing that the end of December is a busy time for many Canadian businesses."

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business said it is disappointed with the government's announcement.

"The government has failed to address the most critical issue on outstanding CEBA loans — the loss of the $20,000 forgivable portion for those unable to repay the loans by year end," CFIB president Dan Kelly said in a statement.

"The extension of the forgivable deadline by a few weeks will be of very little value to the thousands of small business owners who just don't have money to repay now."

Yah super lame. Reading more on it and if you decide to pay it back later you lose the grant portion. Never mind

No vote for you!

He was made a fool of on his recent visit to India and this is his response? Even if true, it’s extremely sensitive and should not be announced until proven and then discussed in private as to what to do about it. He just gets more dangerous to us all the longer he is in power. Clown World international relations edition.

Jagmeet already couldn’t….”In 2013, Singh was denied a visa to India for criticising New Delhi's human rights record, in turn becoming the first western legislator ever to be denied entry into the country.”

Speaking ahead of Zelenskyy, Trudeau announced that Canada was extending its financial aid to Ukraine with a $650-million commitment to give the country more predictable and stable support over the next three years.

Canada has already contributed more than $8 billion in support to Ukraine, including providing air defence systems, armoured vehicles and artillery shells, and training of Ukrainian soldiers, among other commitments.
