Plus Canadas biggest export to China is Coal. For their ever increasing Coal burning power appetite.

Mark Carney, former chair of Brookfield Asset Management, has recently come under scrutiny for his ties to the coal industry and his political ambitions. Carney's firm reportedly owns 49% of the Dalrymple Bay coal terminal, the largest coal export port globally.

The industrial carbon taxes are themselves a sneaky little tariff on buyers of our energy.

It’s looking like the consumer tax was a cash grab while it lasted. BC, at least, started off by making it revenue neutral. The NDP immediately scrapped that when they got elected. And are now in a $10 billion-plus deficit, without factoring in what they’ll lose from consumer carbon tax revenues no longer coming in.

Which makes me think the carbon ‘tariff’ on our energy exports will have to grow.

Or canola, which they just tariffed at 100%.

There you go. Coal contracted by 13% to China. Did somebody snatch that excess capacity up?

Year over year 13% decline is MASSIVE. Where were the economy-damaging headlines in 2024 on those 2023 figures?

Not going to happen while Carney is talking to his buddies in Europe. I think he'll call the election on Saturday or Sunday night.

I'm not sure.   He made some enemies at the CBC today.

When pressed by reporters about his assets, Carney pushed back and said the questions rely on an assumption of "ill will."

"Your line of questioning is trying to invent new rules. I'm complying with the rules that Parliament has laid out and… I will continue to comply with those rules," he said.

And now everyone on the internet is learned he trans his kid.

Plus Rogan just labelled him as bad as Trudeau.

Not a great day for him.

And we thought Justin Trudeau was a sanctimonious autocrat who found dealing with Parliament too tiresome.

Mark Carney has been prime minister for all of a weekend, and he already can’t be bothered with the conventions of Canadian democracy. Carney has not led his party to an election victory, nor has he even tested the confidence of the House of Commons, and yet, despite this almost comical lack of democratic legitimacy, he is behaving like a normal head of government, making policy and going on high-profile international trips. It is sheer madness that this is happening.
