When you factor in the double-digit percentage of those packages that contain damaged contents, contents that will be returned for myriad other reasons, or simply the wrong contents altogether, we're truly living in the most cartoonishly inefficient moment in human history. And yet we're constantly patting ourselves on the back for how awesomesauce it is.
Just chuck it on the huge pile of absolute garbage out back. It’s fine.

Amazon Canada has announced it is rolling out faster Same-Day Delivery options for Prime members in select regions across Canada. Same-Day deliveries are expected to arrive as early as seven hours after being placed.
The company states that Prime members in the Greater Toronto Area, Southwestern Ontario and Metro Vancouver are receiving the new benefit. After placing the order, Prime members can expect faster shipments to be delivered. On top of that, members within these areas will have access to a new overnight delivery option.
Amazon Canada states that orders placed by midnight will arrive “by the next morning.” This assures that last-minute needs or forgotten orders can be placed before bed and will arrive shortly thereafter.
The new overnight delivery method allows customers to choose delivery windows between 4 am to 8 am or 7 am to 11 am.

I ordered a neck-tie last week. And received a large cat litter scoop.
That's the biggest f-up I've ever had.

Always opened first lol. I guess the copper grease and turbo gaskets weren’t of much use.

It's pretty amazing how fast they can get stuff out in the US, I ordered a garden hose around dinner time and it was at my door the next morning before breakfast.

We recently started getting the Dragonfly delivery drivers here. No idea how they got it here so quick.

I ordered two items last week and they arrived same day to salt spring. Pretty crazy.
We recently started getting the Dragonfly delivery drivers here. No idea how they got it here so quick.
If you order enough maybe they’ll build a fulfillment centre on SSI. That would go over well with the locals!

Is Dragonfly just a rebrand of one of the previous delivery companies?

Yes, it's some derivative/re-brand of Intellecom, although Intellecom is apparently still around in some form as I had something delivered by them a few days ago.
Not sure if it was because I'm a Prime member, or just because I've ordered a bunch of stuff off Amazon, but Intellecom sent out a big flashy email a couple of months ago announcing the re-brand.

I have some items coming today and it says 8pm to 1am. I've never seen it past 10pm before.
I actully think they would make much better time delivering overnight. Although it might be much harder to see house addresses.

Amazon announced on Wednesday it will shutter its facilities in Quebec in the coming weeks and cut more than 1,700 jobs.
A company spokesperson said Amazon will outsource deliveries to smaller contractors. The spokesperson insisted that the decision was tied to cost savings — not the recent unionization of about 200 employees at a Laval, Que., warehouse.
"Following a recent review of our Quebec operations," the spokesperson said in an emailed statement, "we found that returning to a third-party delivery model supported by local small businesses, similar to the one we had until 2020, will enable us to offer the same excellent service and deliver even greater savings to our customers in the long term."

Quebec is home to Amazon's only unionized workforce in Canada. The unionized workers in Laval were dissatisfied with what they described as a hectic work pace, low wages and inadequate health and safety measures.
At a recent demonstration, the workers said they were demanding $26 per hour, a $6 increase.

But this is what happens when you force union demands on an employer whose business is built on thin margins and maximum efficiency. It’s a good dose of reality for those who want to unionize.

Those folks signed up to work for Amazon knowing the pay and benefits, if they don't like it now, they can see if somebody else will pay them $26 an hour for their labours.
