Doesn't this have similarities to the David Bratzer/VicPD matter?

Are you saying that will give the Conservatives an edge?

No, the exact opposite, age 55+ voters only indicated 33% in favour of the conservatives.

Stephen Andrew appears to be looking into the Josh Montgomery suspension matter..

From Stephen Andrew's FB page:

MORE BREAKING: the union representing Victoria firefighter Josh Montgomery just issued the following:

“There has been misinformation that has been circulated amongst the public regarding employment matters with one of our members.  Local 730 can confirm that a member, Josh Montgomery, was disciplined for his opinions shared in a letter to Premier Eby.  He was suspended without pay for 1 day.  That day is Friday, August 16th. There is a process to be followed under the collective agreement and that has been initiated.’

President Jeremy Wilson

I’d be madly training Rustad for debates because I suspect Eby to be a far stronger speaker.

Or just refuse to debate. Who pays any attention to provincial debates anyway?

The strategy might be to just blame the current government for all the problems. Eby has to explain why it costs $1.2 million to buy a house in Victoria. Rustad just has to say his policies will make life more affordable and communities safer.

I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the high Conservative polling numbers are coming from disheartened hard working people that view the current political ideals as being a failure.

They have only heard from a few candidates so far and platforms have yet to be finalized and shared with the public.

Simply put they are tired of the status quo and are placing their hopes on fiscal responsibility and a higher moral standard that is to be expected from both the politicians and the citizens alike.

I don't think you need to go very far out on a limb to come to the above conclusion. The evidence of the abject failure of left-of-centre policies surrounds us all the time, everywhere.

Abject failure does not seem sufficient for voters to try something else.  Look at the last three city governments in Victoria, the nine years of Trudeau liberals, the long record of NDP failure here to solve any major problems, the braying donkey in the states claiming that  four years of senile incompetence was a golden age.  The only explanation for it, sadly, is that most people are too stupid to even recognize their own self interest.

That's something I learned a long time ago.

Opinion: Time for Kevin Falcon to bid adieu and become B.C.'s Biden

BC United leader should throw in the towel for the good of the province's right-of-centre coalition

Now is not time to balance B.C.'s budget, says Conroy as province posts $5B deficit

"We have to make sure that we're providing services to people, that we're not making cuts," says Finance Minister Katrine Conroy.

Still no candidate for Victoria. I wonder if there are some deals being made, not to compete in certain ridings.

I do think the best thing that could happen now is for the United to pull candidates where a Conservative has a good chance of winning, and vice versa. Then form a coalition after the election.

Polls suggest United might not have a chance in any riding.
