I was thinking… this actually explains why you and others don’t make a stink about it. This isn’t team sports…. Now election transparency and security is right wing???? I’m alt left….Somehow, I don't believe you. I really doubt you'd be making such a big deal of this here if it were the BC Cons with 47 seats.

If you ask for greater scrutiny, you’re a conspiracist. If you raise the wrong issue, you’re rage farming click bait.
It does slice both ways, though. I watch pundits on both sides, share in the same frustrations.

It’s not even greater scrutiny. It’s just the scrutiny required.I think that has been my biggest pet peeve.

We live in information silos. There's a good chance someone out there is pushing for that greater scrutiny and Elections BC is responding to it, but the media we consume isn't covering it.
For example, much of what goes on in Ottawa that we should know about is covered in Blacklock's, but it's not consumed by 99% of Canadians. And consider the McKenzie Diet. Had it not been brought to our attention on this forum, it would have not as quickly been posted to VV's socials, which massively blew the topic up, and pulled in the rest of the media. Had that not happened that way, who knows when the four-lane debate would have started.
So the information is there, people are working on holding agencies accountable, but we may never see it, or only see it much, much later.

Don't see it anywhere else but Victoria Buzz is reporting on FB that John Horgan has apparently passed as a result of his battle with cancer. He was 65.
*CBC is now reporting this as well.....

John Horgan was a better politician than most - if more were like him, and a lot less like Trudeau, Helps, and Eby, we would all be better served regardless of their stripes. Condolences to his close family and friends, it is tremendously sad.

There are very few politicians who are liked and respected across the political spectrum. John Horgan was one of them, and the media liked him to boot. RIP John. Good guy.

Although thanks to the Canadian taxpayer, it sounds like he had the best possible treatment in Germany. Kind of ironic that 25% of BC'ers don't have a family doctor and wait months/years for important specialist referrals, but we can afford to spend who knows how much on our Government buddies to get them treated quickly overseas.

Ya, It's just common decency to give some space for those to grieve. Then I will join in on all the reasons why I don't think he should be celebrated.

Yep and that is the line that will be used when anyone complains
Interesting to note that the person who was acting as the Ambassador when Horgan was appointed to the role is still in that position according to her profile..
