And once again, I have to ask... those of you that support Trump ideals (instead of Canadian) shouldn't y'all be moving South of the border just like those that can't afford to live on Victoria?

SD, I thought you better than the ol' "I don't like your opinions so you should move from my city/country". We should welcome a diversity of opinions, especially those we do not agree with.

Its a very sad story, but like many others here, think this is only half the story. Its kind of like the story of the woman sleeping in the tent in Victoria with her child and couldn't afford rent only to have her ex write to say she is lazy, doesn't want to work and only goes out to get her $5 starbucks coffee

I'm surprised editors still publish these stories, to be honest. It's really hard to verify the facts. I have some family members where you could publish some pretty heartbreaking stories if half of the truth is omitted.

^^It's actually sarcasm if the face of sarcasm. I much more prefer to show how one may think their argument is valid in one circumstance, but not when it can be used against them.

I think they do it for the heart wrenching stories.  They are easy to do, don't take much effort and as you say hard to verify the facts.  They hopefully will sell papers and allow them to cash their pay cheque for another week

What's this got to do with the issue of homelessness? My understanding is that this man wasn't.

If you are taking illicit drugs bought illegally it's not an accident, you purposely dosed yourself with an unknown entity. Unintended maybe, but not unexpected.

Oh, and you are not a victim.

Street drug issues have been lumped into this thread, that's all.  No, my understanding is he died at the Empress Hotel.
