Does that even make sense? Our planes are smaller and faster.
Is smaller more comfortable?
Maybe you missed those decades of complaints about the floatplanes? Too much legroom and too much separation between other passengers makes you feel really uncomfortable. Lonely, isolated, etc.

I don’t know. I’ve flown many times. Ya the seating is small and uncomfortable, but hardly a worry when it’s only a 35 minute trip. And only 20 or so of that is in the air. I know you are not supposed to, but as soon as we land, and start to taxi in, I usually get up and stretch my legs a bit with a walk up and down the aisle. I’ll sometimes use the bathroom at that time too.

New seaplane docks for Salt Spring
The Harbour Authority of Salt Spring Island is adding two seaplane docks and more transient moorage in response to growing demand for air transport to and from the island.
“As a vital transportation hub for the Southern Gulf Islands, Ganges Harbour plays an essential role in connecting communities, supporting local businesses, and ensuring access to services,” Russ Ellis, the harbour authority’s executive officer, said in a statement. “These upgrades will help improve reliability, safety and capacity while positioning the harbour to meet the region’s evolving transportation needs.”
The $1.2-million project is expected to add another part-time position and up to 11 seasonal jobs for the harbour authority.
Island Coastal Economic Trust CEO Brodie Guy said the project will unlock significant new business investment and activity in Ganges.
“In coastal communities, transportation infrastructure shapes everything. It determines which businesses can grow here, what services people can access, and the quality of life islanders are able to build,” he said in a statement.
The trust is contributing $200,000 for the project.
