I also am hoping that the construction of the towers will mean an improvement of the part of Cuthbert Holmes that will be closest to the towers. Currently this area has been abandoned to invasive species and homeless people. It is a good forty acres of land that is not available in the park.
I also wish they would start construction NOW. The sooner it is built, the sooner the area becomes even more of a vibrant centre of the community.

A restaurant on the roof there is actually a pretty good idea.
It is a good idea, so this makes me think someone in this city will come up with a reason to oppose it. I really am being reminded day after day why I was glad to move out of Victoria in 1990. Do we really have to held hostage to the conservative and negative views of a vocal minority in this city.

Count yourself lucky Bernard you don't/didn't live in James Bay - the Holy Grail of Negativity. I had that pleasure off and on from 2000 to 2007.

Radius was to have one. Still only V18 in this town.

Think of it like the last residential phase at Selkirk Waterfront -- it'll get built when the time is right.

As per a discussion in another thread we learned that Kelsey's is going to be closing down, but Montana's doesn't have any plans to move or close, does it? And is Kelsey's actually located on property required for the towers?
On another note now would be the perfect time to move on this project as a rental. Banks are financing rentals while rates are low and this neighbourhood is far better suited to rentals that could be refurbished into condos at a future time when condos become desirable at or near Tillicum Mall.
Know it all.

Yup both restaurants are in the way of the future development
And both Montana's and Kelsey's are owned by CARA. RioCan have been working to get this development online for a long time, it sounds as though there are now some legs to get this going.

Not yet. Kelsey's at Tillicum Mall will close permanently after tomorrow's end-of-day.

It used to be one of my favourite restaurants...ten years ago.
