I was expecting someone else to, I'm dying to get in, but I'm too young to.

^Well, the time to break in would be while the Young Offenders Act still applies.

I have terrible, awful news. That opening has been boarded up. If we want in, we'll need a crowbar.

Fortin didn't know if council would again consider designating the property for preservation.

Crazy thought: Now, I hate the idea of moving heritage buildings but this is a dire emergency. How practical would it be to wrap up the Janion facade and trailer it over into the facade of the soon-to-be-built Union Condo a few metres away?

^Brilliant, that's exactly what I was thinking.

Let's face it; the facade is the most valuable heritage aspect of the site. Freeing up the site allows many creative opportunities.

I would prefer the Janion be made into loft condos with that great staircase restored. A new streetwall would have to be created and I recall aastra may already have a rendering in his vast storehouse of dream concepts.

That little HBC warehouse is amazing. I haven't seen anything like it anywhere in the world.

I think he must be referring to one of my Photoshops in which I copy buildings from another location and paste them in the empty space. There's nothing complicated about it. Whatever works well across the street or down the block almost always makes for a great fit in whatever hole we happen to be talking about.

Reliance Properties has purchased the Janion...

This is clearly the best possible outcome for this property. I assume you are prepared for the uphill battle with City Hall over this, but I have faith you'll be successful.

This is great news! Now maybe this entire area near the new bridge will come back to life.
