tl:dr, strong oak flavour overpowers light bodied lager. Try Innis & Gunn instead.

http://www2.news.gov...0053-001890.htmPRINCE GEORGE – Minister of Energy, Mines and Natural Gas Rich Coleman today confirmed the Province has instituted a new mark-up policy which will make it easier for B.C.-based breweries to grow and be successful.
Under the new policy, the mark-up rate will increase incrementally between 160,000 and 300,000 hectolitres (hL).
The change moderates the mark-up rates in a manner that will help small breweries to grow.
Prior to the change, the upper limit to qualify for the favourable rate was 160,000 hL. At 160,001 hL, a small brewery was taxed at a rate of $1.75 per litre for packaged beer and $1.20 per litre for draft beer for every hL produced, including the first 160,000.
Now a brewery will have a favourable mark-up rate up to 300,000 hL. For instance, at 160,000 hL the mark up rate is $1.16 per litre for packaged beer and $0.81 per litre for draft beer. For packaged beer, this rate slides upward by about two cents for every 5,000 hL of production between 160,000 and 300,000 hL. For draft beer, the rate slides upward by approximately one cent per 5,000 hL.

We also have the only kegs of Driftwoods Blackstone Porter.

Phillip's Matt Phillips talks to the National Post about beer labels and how a judges recent decision to throw out Molson's legal claims against a foreign brewer seeking to copyright a beer name in Canada affects the Blue Truck/Red Truck ruling from eight years ago (man, it's been that long?).

he's not allowed to brew any truck-themed beers?!

Beet Junkie hibiscus/beet saison; Toxic Avenger imperial porter; Chai Hard chai pale ale, 50 Shades of Brown; ANZAC Ale made with oats, wheat, toasted coconut and golden syrup; imperial berry wit – these are some of the crazy brews being cooked up on a pilot-scale brew rig by the Lighthouse crew as they bid to brew a 50-litre batch of a different beer EVERY WEEK.
McLeod says these beers will be available directly from the brewery via growler fills, and some may make it further afield as one-off casks.
In recent days, McLeod has announced on Twitter casks of Hop Cross Brun hoppy bun-spiced Belgian brown ale, HopCore Choc Orange IPA, and a truly bizarre sounding Cascadian dark ale/witbier hybrid called Cascadian Half-Wit Méthode Exceptionale (CHeW ME – I’d love to hear what this was like).
Lighthouse Barnacle Wheat IPA labelIt’s hoped the experimental cask drive will inspire one new bomber release a month, brewery capacity permitting. One of these, the Barnacle Wheat IPA, has just been released (after making its debut at Hopapalooza III last year); the Mountain Goat Maibock will follow in the middle of the month.
