unpopular opinion coming up.

i'm glad these portraits were defaced.  we have no business holding up these public officials as some type of gods.  they work for us.  they don't rule over us.  it's absolutely wrong that we have public shrines to them.

Am I the only one that remembers your (and many others') cult-like devotion to Trump?

Not me I pretty accurately described what was going to happen if you read back five years or so.

Gorge Tillicum Community Association

Here is Archer Airbrushing's sketch for the mural he'll be painting at 100 Burnside Road West.

We still need more community donations to meet our fundraising goal. Please join in and show your support for the project - even a small donation helps!

Archer selected a girl with a sunflower as his subject to bring a message of hope and positivity during these challenging times.

"It brings back memories, it shows our children, it depicts their future, sunshine and sunflowers." Archer says.

Archer and the GTCA hope this will kick off a series of murals, art and revitalization in the area.

"I think this is a great spot to start with and hopefully we can do more and get other artists involved too."

They've certainly been quiet this last 7 months. Embarrassingly quiet. What has happened to their slavish devotion to a man who puts his trousers on back to front ?

Which makes me realize Trump's official White House portrait will have to make a public appearance sometime in the next four years. That will be interesting.

Funny, I thought its use would be very restricted.

Would you want this sculpture in your neighbourhood? Public art piece draws criticism from some Vancouverites

The sculpture is of a young, distraught boy standing atop a red tower with a melting shark in his arms, a visual warning of rising sea levels and the destruction they could wreak.

But for some residents on the southern edge of Vancouver's False Creek, the proposed 7.8-metre-tall sculpture, to be installed temporarily amid manicured lawns and waterfront residences, is a blemish.

"Do I think the art is suitable for this location? No," said Maggie Rayner, a resident of a neighbouring building, while strolling past the site Sunday afternoon.

looks like the kid should cut that shark up and eat it for dinner.  he needs some (shark) meat on his bones.

Rising sea levels is still a thing?  I've worked mostly on the waterfront for about 25 years, have yet to notice.

Ah, that makes sense.

Maybe they’ll erect that statue at the foot of the Empress.

They look about the same vintage. Maybe they were acquired at the same time? As pointed out in the other thread Cook was fibreglass
