I do think the Commerce Canoe looks good at the entrance to the bridge. It's strange that they put up the sculpture a few weeks ago but haven't come back to finish the landscaping and whatever they're planning for those huge rocks.

Don't be so sure.

Will see more action on site next week.

Forms for the curved seating wall are being built in sections off site.

How much sitting is anyone going to want to do in what is essentially a traffic island?

You still don't get it. Enabling and encouraging people to sit or stand where they would otherwise have no reason to want to sit or stand is the ultimate goal of all enlightened re-envisioning of the urban environment.*

*the secondary goal is to prevent people from sitting or standing where they actually might enjoy it... redeveloped Northern Junk waterfront, redeveloped Wharf Street parking lots, etc.

Don’t even get me started on the tractor seat story.

What's going on at the traffic island beside the bridge? They finished that seating at least a month ago and there's been no work since.

I think ALL public works staff are busy destroying Vancouver Street. I saw 7 of them smoothing out a 4 meter section of freshly poured concrete yesterday. They were practically on top of each other.

Did they fill in that deep pothole between MacDonalds and Save On while they were there being busy?

It seems like potholes are getting worse.

What this area could really use is some more public space; no amenities of course, just more open space.

I missed that Swan's webcam. It should look great when it's done. It's taken long enough.
