You happily pay property taxes.
Then the government says they are going to take an extra 1% of its value each year to spend on safe supply drugs.

Exactly. Why would you? Instead, go buy a nice 2nd+ property in most other places in the world.

Certainly some of us are working hard to cover the ever increasing tax burden.

And many of us have moved assets outside the country.

Oh boy. Specifically what is climate change doing to our infrastructure?
That's a good question. It's not like the CoV is having to build seawalls to hold back the ocean. Heavy rain events are not new. Forest fires are not a CoV issue. What's causing extra costs that can be attributed to climate change (even arguably?).

Physical Risks
Climate change is also having an impact on the way construction companies design and build new structures. The increasing number and severity of weather events such as tornadoes and hurricanes, as well as chronic issues such as sea level rise, flooding, and wildfires, are disrupting supply chains, increasing the cost of building materials, and making it more difficult to complete construction projects on time.

Very arguable. But ok. There are far bigger factors affecting supply chains. Work on those.

If the construction companies and suppliers are both saying this is why costs are increasing, there isn't much to argue unless another source says it's no longer a factor.

Are they though? I'm sure they are saying supply chain delays/issues are causing costs to increase. I won't even argue that.
Are they saying the supply chain issues are primarily caused by climate change? Really? I think they are far more caused by geo-political issues and events like Covid. I suspect most aren't saying why the supply chains are affected at all. It's just the CoV grabbing at straws that are popular to CoV council voting base.

Victoria's draft budget has 12.17% tax hike; councillors looking for ways to cut
Early proposal for Victoria has $365.6 million operating budget and $94.6 million capital budget.

City deputy manager and chief financial officer Susanne Thompson said the fact is the scale and cost of proposed capital investments is significantly higher than in recent years due to increased costs for everything and climate change having a more severe impact on infrastructure than anticipated.

It's projected costs of projects? It's not like the over budgets a capital project just to increase taxes?
Their spending on misting stations, reports, conferences, more reports, new logos, brochures and other items of propaganda is expensive….
That's inexpensive stuff, while I agree with death by a thousand cuts, that's not where the big bucks and adds come from.
